If you look at the photos, you will notice that both of them are sheilding themselves from photographers...meaning that they did not want to be photographed. They were walking far apart so that the paperazzi's profits decreased
i really think she is very pretty. have liked her for years. met her when in london and she seemed very sweet, maybe that is part of the reason i think she is pretty. also may be that she is the girl (princess in waiting) that i wanted to be when i was growing up. lol

uh hmm, yeah maybe but I don't think that works........ Diana used to hide her face in her sweater, or behind a tennis racket, and the press just made a story from that, to show how "crazy" or "stressed out" she was by the attention. "Di in distress" or something. I'm sure you're right that that is why Wills and Kate do this, but I doubt it diminishes value to the picture. They just do it because they think it works, but really it just makes them both look stupid. haha

Maybe they just don't care anymore? They probably figure she is never getting engaged so... what's the point really?
... of course it decreases profits. Read or watch anything about how much paparrazi makes. Nobody is going to pay the same amount for a picture of someone in which you can only see half his or her face as they would pay for a picture in which you can clearly see their whole face. ^ yeah but with pictures so scarce it sometimes doesnt matter. And also there is public interest. People were (and are) fasinated with Diana so it didnt matter that she had a tennis racket on her head they just wanted to see her.

I think Diana's "story" and the preconceived notions people had about her helped her immensely. And the fact that she kept people guessing about her right up until the book in 1992 came out. Even then people still didn't know if she had contributed to it but it worked. The public couldn't get enough of her, she was and will always be on a totally different level then Kate. I think if Diana was more like Camilla or Kate she wouldn't have the status she has now, unfortunately her tragic story was what helped her be so loved and hated by others.
