Catherine, Princess of Wales (Kate Middleton)

And aren't those drunk party pictures from a couple of years ago, too??

Kate Middleton and Family Arrive for Christmas Festivities

Kate Middleton and family are pictured arriving home after spending Christmas Day out together. It may be Kate's last Christmas with her family - mother Carole, father Michael, sister Phillipa and brother James as she will no doubt spend next Christmas with the Royal family. BBC and Sky News crews along with photographers were waiting eagerly for her arrival at the family's Berkshire home.

I can't even begin to express how disappointing this news is to me. The thought of her family now being part of the royal circle makes my stomach turn.

As for her engagement outfit, I thought it was kinda boring. A nice colour, but she's worn dresses like that before, and I can't help but feel it wasn't suited for her shape. I also wish she had done something with her hair and that she would stop with the eyeliner.

Agreed with everything. And I also liked the color of the dress (me thinks she's obsessed with blue and wanted to get matchy matchy with the ring), but she has large shoulders and the body of a ferret, and the waist just accentuates that. It makes her torso look freakishly long.

She's supposed to be wealthy no? SO WHY DOES SHE INSIST ON WEARING THE SAME FLAT BLACK AND BROWN BOOTS? Can she not afford shoes? She's been wearing those things since 2005? The first thing I hope she recieves from "designers" is about a couple dozen pairs of shoes. I've never seen anyone with less shoes in my life. What kind of a woman only wears two pairs of shoes? It's maddening. And she wears them practically all year round. It's like that one year when Britney had those one pair of boots. And she wore them in LA in June!

Really? A sex toy film launch? Congrats William and Britain your future Queen is into sex toys! And that outfit is horrible.

Not fashion related but funny you bring that up. I've actually never been able to look at her the same since maybe two years ago? I read about "her favorite sex toy". There's a picture of a link over on Dlisted that's been there for ages, it's of a hand holding a cone like object. After seeing it for months and curious as to what this object was I clicked the link and was suprised that they seemed to be promoting it by claiming it was Kate Middleton's favorite! Complete with pictures showing how to use it. Odd thing for the future Queen of England. Just in general she seems completely sexless to me. It's like imagining your parents having sex, so I'll never be able to see her as "Queen" knowing that cone like contraption is her favorite "toy".

i honestly dont see why anyone would have a problem with this girl. she's a normal, cute girl, she doesnt do anything illegal, she comes from a normal family, she works and william chose her.

i dont see why people seem to have a problem with the fact that she's from a 'normal' family. this is not the 1800s, its 2010 (soon to be 2011). i think she's a breathe of fresh air for this family. she's acted like any other girl in her 20s.

as for her style, its not the most adventurous. but at least she doesn't dess like a sl*t. she's very presentable IMO.

Ever since she got engaged she's been looking extra smug.

Maybe it's because she's marrying the man she loves. Personally, I think she looks just like any other recently engaged young lady....I would know cos I've been told I look so happy, soppy and smug at the same time!!!

And she likes the attention, she always has, which is fine. Girl better get used to it because she'll be dealing with it for the rest of her life or seven years...haha jk;)
Anyways she's hung on for eight years and got what she and her family wanted. I do believe there is some amount of love between her and William left but it also seems like he is just making an honest woman out of her at this point. I only hope she can get a great stylist and show us something interesting down the road. God knows we don't need another Camilla.

I agree... she is looking super smug. I also feel sorry for her because it's well known that when her and Wills broke up he headed over to the US to try to hook up with some American heiress that turned him down. She just hang on for dear life, i guess it paid off, if you look at it that way. She is pretty and she is cute, I do like her style. I dont' think she needs to be setting trends. I also dont' like the way girls dress in London (short skirts, super tarty looking) and she really dresses nicely and classy

I don't see anyone in this thread complaining about her coming from a "normal" family - the greatest complaint is her insistence on wearing those terrible brown/black suede boots. Being a "nice girl" has nothing to do with style - which Kate lacks. And also - she doesn't work.

She doesn't work? Did she graduate? I remember reading she was a jewelry or accessories buyer, correct? Does she think that by getting the crown that she won't have to work?

Add me to that list:flower:

^ me too! me too! :D...and she was an accessories buyer. Then she worked for the family business. Also, I'm sure she knows that being a part of the royal family means she will have to work. She would have to be ignorant to think otherwise.

yea and i believe she used to work at her family business too, correct me if im wrong. obviously, when she 'gets the crown' she will have a different kind of job lol.

and i was more referring to the general public opinions about her. everyone seems to have a problem with her and i just dont see why. what has she done thats so bad?

i was actually watching a rather interesting documentary this morning about their engagement where they partly discussed her style. not everyone can be a fashion junkie like most tFS's (im a victim). im not really into her style, but i think she dresses ok. there's nothing UGLY about her style. she dresses rather old-fashioned and classic.

I'm sure she know what is in store for her and expected of her.
Because people write/post things here, such as their own theories doesn't make it true even thou they type it as it is.

The list is actually longer than just the American; there's Craig, Hunt, Farquahr, the girl with four last names, it seems that any girl with money and wealth or titles of their own turned him down because they didn't want to join 'The Firm'. I feel bad for William that he wasn't allowed the women he wanted because of his position but if that is the case it doesn't paint a good picture of him either. I do wonder how good a choice she is for him because she clearly loves the attention, while he is, quite publicly, the complete opposite.

As for her style, it's atroscious and I don't expect it to change. She'll become more ingrained into that family, and will no doubt think, and probably be told, that her terrible choices are in fact good ones.

I can't see her becoming Unlce Karl's new favorite or getting Valentino to dress her. I don't think she has it in her to see the beauty in those clothes (which is just odd for an Art History major). I'm not a fan of English fashion. UK style icons, Alice Dellal, Alexa Chung, Peaches and Pixie Geldof, etc are not what I look up to, and I could never see Middleton dressing like that or even like the Jordan clones, but if she gave De La Renta, Burberry Prorsum, even Ralph Lauren a chance I think it would do wonders for her. With Lauren she could overdose on all the tweed her little Sloane-y heart desires. There are plenty of "conservative" designers out there.
