Catherine, Princess of Wales (Kate Middleton)

I don't like a thing in that look! and as someone said, too much brown going on...

its an orla kiely dress. i love orla kiely (love the retro prints and the shapes usually)
but this is one of their worst pieces IMO.
ive noticed that both the duchess and her sister wear a lot of brown. its a hard colour to pull off and match with other colors IMO.

Don't like the dress but the boots bother me the most, they are blah and look a bit worn. Is it a dress or a coat, either way it is styled strangely and she looks cold.

I like the coat but not the boots or tights. She leads such an odd life now.
I know right? The more I see her on duty, the more I really wish William had married someone else or were not the heir to the throne. Thank God I won't see her as the princess consort for at least 40 years with those crazy Windsor genes.

The outfit is a complete disaster and she still does not know how to pick her boots nor how to exit a car.

She must have a stubborn streak. I find it hard to believe that she has not heard anything about how her makeup, hair and style needs improvement. I would think that she would have already learned how to properly apply makeup, exit a car or know to have a tailor put weights in her dress to keep it from blowing. It also baffles me that at least her hairdresser has not said anything about changing her hairstyle from event to event. I also wish she had chosen different charities to support. I agree that the arts are important but there are so many more important issues out there that need to be brought into the public eye.

The print looks like what would be wallpaper back in the days. The color does not suit her and its just too much print.

*shrug* I think she looks good. She dresses mature, but she looks coordinated polished. I'm not really ever expecting her to look youthful or whimsical anymore.

I do't mind this look--at least she keeps it consistent and she picked boots she hasn't worn a million times.

:flower: great post. I also find her very annoying lately for these reasons.

I dont' get why she can't wear her hair differently ever, or have better posture. Her head is looking really large and disproportional lately and i'm sure it's because of the way she carries herself.

i like the dress but hate the boots.

These comments are really horrible to read. Two pages ago there's celebration about her attire and now lines of complaints. Personally, I think that her posture and deportment makes her seem a lot more down to earth and approachable. She carries herself well and seems to fulfil all of her duties brilliantly. There's no requirement for her to be absolutely 'perfect' just because she's married to a Prince. Who says that she should always exit a car in a certain was just because she's female or royal?

One slightly dodgy although still very nice (I like the coat!) outfit doesn't make a case for a decline in style. She looks gorgeous and always has done. I support her choice in charities because she's chosen causes which are important to her. Her personal charities aren't the only organisations that she supports - she also does work to do with poverty and aid (such as with UNICEF) alongside William. In the UK a lot of welfare charities are already supported by other royals or are covered by the State. There has been a sharp decline in vital funding for arts organisations in recent months and they are just as important as other charities. They need the public support that Catherine can bring them more than ever.

Kate isn't our public property - we can't dictate whether or not William should have married her because it's not our business. She seems like a lovely Royal and she's handling these challenging tasks with great maturity.

^ I know! She can do no right...If she is fashionable, she is shallow, stupid and a label w***e; now she is matronly and boring- no matter what she does some people will object! I just think she is lovely and promises to be a huge asset to her husband and the Royals for many years to come... ^_^

I find that dress to be the opposite of matronly. Its cutesy and twee. She always seems to have that issue. Its either too old or too young

Kate Middletons $257 Dress Already Sold Out!

Kate Middleton has once again proven she's a fashion force to be reckoned with!
When the brunette beauty stepped out in a low-cost dress she wore on an official royal visit Tuesday, it sold out just hours after her appearance!
The Duchess of Cambridge, 30, visited The Art Room charity at the Rose Hill Primary School in Oxford in a $257 brown Orla Kiely Birdie wool jacquard shirt dress, which has since sold out on the website.

Pairing the look with her favorite brown Aquatalia by Marvin K ankle boots the Duchess showed off her toned legs in matching brown tights.

^but she IS royal and she IS insanely watched by the media, she can't just walk around like a clumsy everyday girl!! sure it's great she's down to earth and wears cheaper clothing, i don't mind that, and i love that about her. But she could stand to look a bit more polished and have better posture. Just because she stands up straight or can exit a car gracefully does not make her stuck up? seriously what a silly thing to say.. most women in the spotlight learn about posture and carrying themselves gracefully. it's part of being out there.
she doesn't have a stuck up vibe at all, so i don't see how it could come accross if she could just stand up straight and check herself coming out of the car. she's a princess of Britain after all..

I think I would like this dress in the dark blue color more and with heels and a pill box hat to match. It could have been very Jackie O but she obviously missed....Plus I don't see a thing wrong with exiting a car properly :)

Don't like her latest look. The cut of the dress is fine but the pattern is yucky. It reminds of the matronly, unflattering clothes Princess Grace took to wearing during the 1970s.

For a prep school girl, Kate does have poor posture. I am not scandalized by her dress blowing up though. There are shots of Diana as late as 1993 getting her skirts blown up by the wind on tours and various engagements. So I don't think it's any big deal that there are no weights anchoring the skirt down on Kate's dress.

As for the arts, I'm glad Kate is focusing on it as arts are always the first departments to get cuts when budget struggles as they are considered "superfluous." Yes, there are more pressing issues, but I think Kate's doing the right thing. Besides, she can put her long neglected college degree to actual use! And, yes, there are more pressing issues, but art enriches everybody's lives no matter what your income. (Jackie O was tied to the Kennedys..who care about everything..., and SHE only focused on the arts her entire life, and nobody thinks the less of her. There are other Windsors to deal with other problems. Let Kate be Kate in what she chooses to support.)
