I'm sure she wore them because she was going to be on grass and gravel, and otherwise favors stilettos. If you wear those, you sink into the grass ... not very princess-like.

The ruffle around her neck is a bit much, but I like this look. It's so her, and her excellent figure helps a lot. Stunning. Agreed about those wedges. They're positively hideous.

This white dress is actually a repeat of the day dress she wore in Canada, on the kids playtime day where Charlotte was famously photographed playing with the balloons. I like it and am glad she brought it out again.

She could retire that blue satin coat dress she wore to the Queen's Garden Party though. (Or, in the very least, add something interesting to it -- like a brooch on the collar.)
