Chloé F/W 08.09 Paris

mehhhh, i really dont like this season. last winter was better, more vivid. i think the only thing i like is the embroidery.

I kind of hate to see that he's given up his Chloe look so much in favor of what the Chloe customer used to be. I didn't love his first two collections, but it was nice to see Chloe move on from the vintage, ruffley, boho thing. It was nice to see that he had his own POV in regards to the house.

This is kind of what girls and young women are already wearing, and have been wearing for years. That's not what I expect of a Parisian house.

... Leaves me wondering what Yvan could've done with Chloé. :ermm:

Though must admit that the last 2 looks are rather nice.

it's ok. i don't hate it but i don't like it either.

the black looks are the standouts to me. it would've been such a strong statement if the presentation had just been the black looks without the others.

the shoes are so fug

I like this collection a lot, even though it's not exactly outstanding

I loved the spring collection to death. I can't say the same for this one. I do like the floral prints on the transparent fabrics, the floaty skirts paired with jackets, those are the few pieces that stand out in terms of my own personal taste.

i don't think the looks with the fur are very strong, but the rest is beautiful.

It just looks too busy and a lot of stuff going on. I'm really not a fan of what he's doing at Chloe but I much prefer his first collection over this...the simpler the better

There are a few pieces I like but overall I didn't get a sense of great positivity toward any of this.

some of the chiffon assymetrical dresses are lovely but on the others there is some serious over-embellishment going on, it looks contrived and not 'chloe' at all! if anything it looks like god-forsaken marc jacobs.

and i was counting on cute shoes from chloe :( pointy toe elf boots are so not my thing.

I can't say it's bad, I do like it, but I was expecting more. Unfortunately, that always leads to disappointment! It wasn't bad though, there were some interesting pieces and I liked the styling. Colours were nice as well.

Would you also like it if Marni suddenly started doing Chloe-like clothing?
i wish you werent so harsh and rude about this brand
i dont get why you feel so connected to it...
he didnt dismiss the brands identity completely but it was something new and to be quite honest i see alot of similarities int he two brands aestetics anyway, albeit marni's is more conceptual and minimalist...

but this is just boring, and so was what phoebes was doign. it was wonderful at the start but it just got old, in my opinion, his last collection was an amazing centerpoint of the two sensebilitys...
i dont understeand why YOU want a designer to completely disregard his design experience and heritage to make the brand happy... if that was the case they could have hired any old designer.

I so agree with you on the over-embellishment. To me it has ruined what looked like very promising tailored jackets, coats and dresses. The embroidery pushes up the retail prices while at the same time cheapening the overall look of the collection. First off I was really enamoured with this new collection however reflecting upon it there is less to love:unsure:

this is such a safe collection......the styling is really not that great......there are some nice weraable clothes in there......some good coats and nice little dresses. But its just not cutting the mustard amoung what are some really strong and visionary collections that you know will be influential.....YSL, Junya, Balenciaga, McQueen being the ones that come to mind are so much more confident....even Givenchy is striding ahead of this....

I am sure Coleen McLouglin will like it though

eh This reminds me of what he was doing pre-spring and I thought he would go foward not backwards. Its very lame

I can't really say that I am in love with this collection but I am happy with it^_^

I completely agree. I do like what I see here, for the most part it's quite lovely, but it's as if he took the harsh criticisms from his past collections and compensated his idea. I absolutely loved where he took Chloe - his two collections have been outstanding, imo... so this is like seeing Phoebe all over again... not a bad thing at all of course.

I agree. The whole Phoebe craze came and went, and it was absolutely refreshing to see Paolos's work. I became an immediate fan after I saw his first collection. But I feel that he's being pressured to subdue his vision... you can see it more and more each season. This one especially. It's an attempt at the old Chloe, but really, the old Chloe is SO boring now. Show me something different!!!!!
