Thanks Roey, I feel better. A LOT better  I do the same thing too, I pay way to much for shipping and then return after I pick the best. I mean, I am sooooo embarrased everytime the Fed Ex guy comes to my house. It's getting to the point of where I am hiding and just wait for him to leave the package at my door. He's always kidding around with me about how I'm his best customer, blah, blah and I see him EVERYWHERE. It's insane. I see him driving down the street and he's like, hanging out of his truck waving frantically to me. I even bumped into him at Starbucks once as he was making a delivery. I wanted to DIE. I don't know why I feel this way. Wait. I know, it's because I know I have a problem and he knows and I am totally embarrased!

I should say that I still do love Balenciaga. I have 2 left (I sold a bunch) that I really adore.

I am glad however, that I am not alone! I'm soooooo addicted to handbags. They're like a piece of art and such a statement piece.

I have another bag coming on Tuesday and I am already stressing out about seeing him, again!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey Mammab - my chocolate bowler is arriving on Tuesday. My landlord once yelled at me because I paid the rent late. She actually said, and I quote, "You get so many friggin packages!" (meaning why couldn't I pay on time if I can afford what's in the packages...). I told her to MYOB! I paid late because my paycheck was delayed. Once in nine years of living in her house... but what an embarrassing thing to hear. The return labels are right on the box: Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordsrom, Saks. I'm surprised she hasn't raised my rent!

roey - do post pics of your bowler when you get it - or tell us how you like it! I bought one but then decided to return it bec. the padlock was scratched. Debating getting another. Is the leather stiffer on the bowlers?

Chloe Babe and Chick Chick,

sorry for the late reply, but thanks you for your help between the paddington and Chanel bag!!!!

the whiskey is no longer offered on LVR!! sad.

Keep checking! I've seen it pop up and then dissapear a few times.

I wore my bowler 2 days ago and I noticed small tears in the leather. They're more like little cracks I guess, it's on the insides of the flap that holds the lock. It's where the leather pulls when you flip the lock back. Does anyone else have this?

Absolutely, you know I'm always good for pics! :D

I am going to guess it's the new leather, but the older bowlers had the slouchy leather like the satchels. And I don't want to discourage by stating I prefer the older leather. The newer leather is not cheap by any stretch. It is actually thicker than the older leather and looks as if it will hold up better with use. If I were new to Paddingtons I would still fall in love with the bag/newer leather. And if there weren't so many other bags I want I would keep the new chocolate since the color has very little red in it, if any, unlike my AW 05 chocolate which has a strong red undertone.

As for the scratched lock, every lock has its issues, whether it's a scratch, peel, or slight discolorations which are very hard to notice if they are small. My tan lock arrived perfect front and back and now has some rubbing where the lock meets the loop, as well as some very subtle chipping along the "seams". The SS06 locks are lighter in weight than the older ones with a gold versus brass finish, and even more prone to chipping and peeling. Those who state they have a perfect lock are either not looking closely enough, or haven't used the bag enough. Only the hardware on the very first issue of bags seems to be holding up.

Take a look at the pic of my two Noir bags. The one I returned (on the table) has a more gold toned lock than the one I kept, which is a darker brass tone. It's heavier too. Although the Noir is 06, it came out in late 05 before the hardware was changed.

AHA! We might have a reason to like the new leather - stiffer equals less likely to tear. I'm sorry to hear this, but I'll bet if I check my satchels I'd find a similar scenario. That flap of leather is very soft on all of my bags.

Oops! I mean Chic Chick. Sorry!

and thanks for the reply Nawth21!

I keep checking, but everytime I check its not there. I emailed LVR and they said they are no longer taking any orders for the whiskey. but since you've seen it a couple times, I will keep checking!

yeah and LVR told me anthracite was non metallic and came with brass hardware  Until I got an SA who seemed who have a better grasp of the English language or maybe just knew what the H I was talking about lol. I think people end up cancelling their preorders so it should open up more spots.

Otherwise, my local NM had a whiskey on Sat if you cant wait

Does anyone know if Bahrain has any mini silver paddy's? Also, what is the price if you buy from Bahrain? Will I have to pay taxes? what about customs duties? How much are those?

This color really intrigues me, but the size reminds me of a long weiner for some reason and the medium one isn't big enough. I am completely undecided if I should keep or let it go. Opinions? I have a toddler and I love how the bottom has the zipper compartment where I can keep all his diapers, sippys, etc....ugh! Does anyone have the large zippy and find it a pain to get into the bottom part???

Also, what are everyones thoughts about this bag vs. the large shopper in Whiskey?? That is the other one I am lemming, a lot. But then again, I have 2 other Chloe whiskey bags (paddy and large hobo).

Decisions....decisions...

Mammab,I have to admit I am a bit undecided as well. It is a bit like a "footlong", and I do love the bag...but, it is quite a bit heavier than my other bags and I do think the bottom section is primarily "for looks". I don't know...I think the appearance is actually quite attractive and I like the fit on me better than the regular paddy... Perhaps this is a "natural" part of the cycle...review, acquire, use right away or study for a bit, bag becomes a part of rotation or bag is returned/sold to make room for next... So the question is use or return??? Do I ever feel shallow now...

Are posts being wonky again? Anyhow, I was checking LVR and now instead of preorder for anthracite is says available :buzz: Are they lying!? or are they in? I preordered this bag so I hope its in! ahhhhhh!

I strongly preffer the tote to the zippy :)

Mammab, The double-zipper large paddington is a keeper! Photo is terrible, but I am wearing it today! :D

Mammab - your pictures are so gorgeous that you could make a Target bag look good! I have to admit that I love the pictures of your Zippy a lot but if you are having any doubts return it. Wouldn't the hobo serve the same purpose being a large bag and all that? Maybe you just need to gently use it a few times while out with your son and determine if function warrants the price tag.

I have corresponded with other Chloe lovers outside of TFS who like the design but find the length of the Zippy a dealbreaker as far as purchase. Can we have a picture of you holding it?

A little heads up for people looking for whiskey - they have one on NM.com. Not sure of where they ship to. Oh man, I wish LVR was open 24/7, I need to know if my bag is in lol.

*edit* I prefer the zippy, but only because I don't like tote styles. Theyre both nice.

Actually, I think the bowlers might work better with the newer leather, to help it hold some of it's shape. Since it's boxy, it makes sense for it to be more structured. And if you carry it on the arm, it won't sag as much.

As for the colour - I've liked all shades of brown the paddy has come in - from the reddish brown to the more dark chocolate brown. The gold looks beautiful next to it. And brown wil make even trendier bags look more classic, while even a bright red Jackie may still look 'of a season.'

I've kinda resolved myself to the locks being imperfect - maybe they could actually contribute to the 'distressed' look of the bags. :D My squashy choco paddy looks like it's been around since the 70s, so might as well have the lock match it.
