Have to say that I've been nosey-ing around various sites looking at the purses myself, but I don't really like the colours that are available. I hadn't really noticed how big the purse was, until I saw the pic of it next to a bag, either.

Love the color anthracite, but I have to admit, after seeing the silver at Nordstroms the other day, it was spectacular. Love the wallet w/the little padlock, how cute!

Question: I bought a red hobo (shoulder bag) off BG's website earlier -- I have a feeling it was a return, right??? Just please someone tell me they at least send the bag out to get 'refurbished' before they list it for sale?? I'm worried I'm going to end up with a dirty used bag.

Sorry about not getting to Nordies to take pictures of the bags (roey!!). I only had one free hour (babysitter at my call) and it was either that or drive downtown to Barneys to pay my bill! Priorities.....priorities.....

It probably was a return But that doesnt necessarily mean its all beat up! Unless they brought back the red hobos this season?

No problem! I actually called Bellevue yesterday to inquire about the Bowler (Box) in whiskey and the s/a couldn't have been more rude. They sold out of all the traditional satchels in whiskey and only have the zippy style, not the box. Her whole attitude was snotty, but at least I got the answer I am looking for. Nordstroms has not purchased the Bowler/Box for their stores, at least not in the current shipments of bags.

As for the BG order, it really depends on who returned it. I have returned gently used bags on more than one occassion but they still look brand new and could easily be re-sold at full retail. I got a returned chocolate from Saks last year that was perfect in every way; it was obvious the customer never used it or if she had, she treated it as I would if it were mine.

BG has a great return policy. If anything is wrong with the bag upon arrival you can ask them to issue a temporary refund to your credit card while it is on the way back to them for permanent credit. Temporary credits last 30 days, and if they don't have the merchandise back w/in that time your card is re-charged.

mammab, that red hobo is a couple seasons old and has popped up so many times that i wonder if it keeps getting bought, returned, bought, returned. still, roey is right that if it's returned by the right person (like me or roey) it should be in good shape). but please make sure that it's real -- someone posted a story in the balenciaga thread about a fake bag that was returned to neiman's -- if the SAs in the stores can't tell the difference, i guarantee the grunts who process the returns have no clue. also, don't be surprised if the red hobo turns out to be the wine red, not the true red shown in the pictures. i bought what i thought was a red hobo last year and it was the wine.

i hate to be such a naysayer but i'd prefer you be pleasantly surprised than sorely disappointed when you get it.

NAP have the red 'shoulder bag'...is that the same as the 'hobo'? If so, it could be new season as this bag just came up on NAP last week.

Just lower end stuff but it's fun! If you're selling Chloes it seems the 'authentically priced' ones are taking a few listing cycles to move... but there's a great sale today - Tuesday only - to list without losing your shirt on listing fees if it doesn't move... hmmmmm.....

Those rivet dents are not necessarily associated with a return. The very first tan bag I had (and returned) had rivet dents in the leather. They looked like bite marks! Scratches in hardware also occur with brand new bags. But used or not, they should be discounted for the price points we are paying so I am glad BG accommodated you. I got a $155 off my Noir satchel for a peel on the lock.

Gads, I know what you mean aobut the microscopic fleck. I will obssess over the smallest, insignificant flaws that most people don't even notice. But honestly, if it bothers you that much it is not insignficant. I want to be the one to "christen" my bags with flaws, not purchase them that way.

I think I know what you mean about the back of the tan bag - either super pebbly that it looks diseased, or textured with lumps/bumps and wrinkles. My first tan had the former, my second the latter, but the plus side of the latter is the bumps, lumps and wrinkles smooth out with use.

No, no, I agree -- this is going to be very interesting when it arrives. I love the color red so much and have never really found the perfect red bag and when I saw it on BG's website I thought, "this is it!"

I ordered it "next day" yesterday. It would be great if it did arrive today but it most likely wont happen since my experience with online ordering is that it takes a day to process.

You know, I've always thought about the possibility of someone "returning" a fake. I honestly would not be surprised!

I'll post pictures once it arrives. I hope it's the real deal and in PERFECT condition. We'll see....
