Chloe Paddington Bags (February 2005 - March 2010)

I love the large zippy bouler for an everyday bag. That said, I am medium to tall and medium build. It could quite possibly overwhelm someone petite.

I bought a whiskey Paddington recently and still haven't carried it. It is just lovely and gorgeous, but I keep hesitating. Does anyone else do this with new bags, especially with expensive new bags, let them sit a bit before carrying them? Or do you all get them out there the minute they show up?

I know many people who are like that, I am not one  I take it out the instant I get a new bag...I always have an excuse to run to the local Walgreens.

HYZE - I only saw the large zippy bags. Like SoCal said though, for the right person it would be a great daily-bag; for me, it would be a fab travel bag (if I ever traveled :( ).

Nawth21 - I agree, always an excuse to go to the store.

youngprof - I did and have babied my anthracite paddy; but, this is because I cannot get over thinking that the metallic leather makes it an evening bag.

Honestly, I think it is. There is a pen mark on the bottom of the bag, maybe that is why it is cheap; also, it looks like the mini-paddy size; those retailed at $1300+.

The price screams fake; but, the details scream authentic. Does the seller offer a money-back guarantee?

Maybe another paddy owner can give their opinion?

Question: I bought a red hobo (shoulder bag) off BG's website earlier -- I have a feeling it was a return, right??? Just please someone tell me they at least send the bag out to get 'refurbished' before they list it for sale?? I'm worried I'm going to end up with a dirty used bag.

Mammab- there's a garnet hobo for sale on NAP today, so maybe they've just released them again? Either way, if the BG one isn't to your liking, this can be option #2!

Hi ladies,

I just picked up a dark red paddington from Bluefly.com. However, its description said that SKU for this bag is not available, which I found a bit odd. All items from bluefly is authentic...correct?

I am the complete opposite! hehe.. When I get a new bag, I carry it EVERYWHERE.. i make excuses to go places just to carry it..lol.. although I do know what you mean about letting them sit to admire them. I definitely baby my bags ^_^

Thanks mundodabolsa. I just got the hobo and Lilygirl was right. It was a return and the WRONG color. Mind you, if BG's website at least said it was "garnet" then I would have never ordered it. That's a true wine color. I was after the red-red color -- the lipstick red and that is sure as heck what it looked like on the site. I was really sad when I opened up the box and saw this deep, dark wine color looking up at me.

The inside plate, one of the rivets or screws or whatever came loose and it made the entire plate shift over to one side. It also came with a GUCCI dustbag and not a chloe, but the lock and key were spotless. Not scratches or anything.

Now, I have to say, the leather, was absolutely TO DIE FOR. I mean, I can not believe how incredibly soft, and smushy and amazing it was. It was completely bumpy all over and it sure was a heck of a lot lighter than my whiskey and my blanc hobo (shoulder bag). It was such a momentary love-hate relationship. I wanted to keep it for the leather but I just don't dig the color. I just knew it wouldnt work out. It's now sitting on my front porch waiting for fed ex to pick it up and take it back.

So -- I take it this Garnet color is from last season?? If so, it's a pity. The leather is really amazing and now I know what all you have been talking about vs. the old leather and the new. The newer leather seems a lot heavier and stiffer. My Blanc hobo almost looks like the leather was spraypainted with the Blanc color (I only say this b/c on of the pieces of hardware connecting the strap to the bag have white sprayed all over it -- like from a spray paint can).

Now, if it's a color that has been re-issued for this season, then I am a total idiot and have no idea what I am talking about. But I have yet to see another color aside from Garnet that has that amazing leather. My whiskey comes close, but not that close.

*sigh* Oh well.

EDIT; Sorry one more question -- has anyone out there seen the BLANC color that does have a bumpy soft grainy texture???? Would love to know.

I saw a few blanc bags at Neiman's Boston. They were bumpy grainy but not soft soft, much like the whisky paddy i have.

Mammab - that could well be a new-season bag - I haven't paid much attention to the various reds, so I'm not completely up on Chloe's names for these like I am with the other colors, but there is a brand new wine - red color that was just released. Saks just received it in the hobo style last week.

And yes, I do have a soft, grainy, squishy Blanc. They are definitely out there - the textures vary from bag to bag. Actually I will say that the Blanc is one of the stiffer colors comparatively - I've found more stiff ones in these than in some other colors - but there are still some which are much softer and more grainy than others.

Aww Mammab - SO sorry to hear it wasn't the right color! That truly sucks.

I have my tan bag today and it is exactly the leather you describe and why the new leather is such a departure from the older style. It just looks so rich and expensive! Now you have seen firsthand why when Chloe raised the prices and changed the leather we all sat here going WHAT?! :o

I don't think you will be able to find that exact leather in an 06 bag, but you can find a Blanc with perhaps more softness and texture than the one you have. You just need to find a s/a who can spot the differences, or visit a lot of stores on your own.

Thanks Roey -- I'm a HUGE mission. I have like 3 SA's scouring the country for the perfect Blanc hobo for me. The one I have now is pretty, but I can't get used to the leather so I've been using my whiskey. I know they must exist out there b/c the leather on the inside flap of my blanc bag has the most amazing pebbled leather ever. Why they decided to use that on the inside vs the outside I will never understand.

style101 -- you may be right as I saw the same hobo on NAP. That would be wonderful if they continued with that type of leather, if it is infact new for this season.

So....the "paddington box satchel" that's on NM at the moment, would you say that's the style we all seem to call the bowler, or is it different??

has anyone seen the medium pocket paddy in store? The london stores have the large but not the medium

Oh my god i'm having a panic attack! I just noticed that one of the side buckle is upside down. The Chloe is on the bottom. Just so paranoid that i got a returned fakie. Can someone ease my pain and tell me that yours is like that too

Sheesh:blush: I was ready to storm out the door and get another bag
Thanks missbradshaw:flower:
