Chloe Paddington Bags (February 2005 - March 2010)

Crazy day ...lunchtime NAP success (finally) ...midafternoon visit to physician to figure out allergy that resulted in my eyelids turning red and flaky (what!) ...get home (exhausted) and see FedEx tag hanging on my front door ...drag my tired and slightly obsessed a** to FedEx to retrieve package...

Received noir zippy from NM. I have to say, I was stunned. First, I received the bag a day early. Second, a NM SA has never sent me a more carefully wrapped bag (large box, tremendous amount of paper packing, gold foil box inside, extensive paper packing around bag).

So, here she is (with whiskey "sister")...will inspect over the next 2-3 days...

SoCal, the noir is gorgeous! like roey, i think i like it better than the whiskey!!!

Well I'm pretty sure I'll be returning the blue claire satchel to Nordstrom this weekend (pretty sure=when, not if...I think!) If anyone is interested in her I can connect you with my SA in Portland OR (wave to J Star if we're the same Portland).

blu, just curious, why are u returning the bleu?

hi bijin - the bag is absolutely gorgeous, I just ordered 4 paddys at the same time to see what they were like. The bleu was my first love but alas after taking inventory I have too many spring bags, so bleu is the first to go. It's the only one I got from an SA so I feel bad Too practical?

At least one more has to go back but that'll be easier shipping to BG.com!

Does Chloe make Chloe boxes now? I heard from bahrain that they didnt but they are going to soon, i wonder if the spring 06 provides boxes. its lovely your paddington! hows the lock, any peelings anyone?

also Bahrain sent the bag yesterday im getting it on friday march 3rd around noon! i cant wait! i hate the taxes in canada i have to pay $102.31 for customs

oh yeah bahrain is sending me the craie, and i asked if it was the autmn/fall 2005 and she said yes! im so excited since i liked last year's leather more since its more pebbly and thick =)

omgosh, i saw this bag in a Japanese magazine and wondered why i've never seen it before. checked LVR and it was there! however, i would have never checked on it if i didn't see it in the mag being carried! here's a pic from LVR. what do you guys think? i the chain strap!

SoCal - I have to comment on the red, flakey eyelids allergy! This cropped up on me twice in the past and the doc knew it was an allergy but we never determined to what! The first time, plain old Eucerin cream from the jar cleared it up, but the second time I needed to apply a steroid cream. I hope you are cured soon!

I love the Noir Zippy, even better than the Whiskey. Do you plan to keep both? The Noir looks fab in the Zippy style. What was your first reaction after you "came to" from seeing the meticulous packing job?

I was so happy to read your post! Love the tread...Can share my bag obsession and have eyelid allery comrades! I am on the steroid cream as well...wow, my first time on steroids...I might need a larger bag! (Kidding...)


Thanks all for your noir support. I feel like such a bad "mother" when I look at the photos of my bags...how could I let my children appear so "stumpy"...well, bad angle, what can I say...at least you get a sense of color.

I now have a better understanding of the Chloe paddington addiction...I did not experience it with the traditional paddy, but the zippy is definitely "my" bag. The whiskey is my favorite. I am going to try the noir on over the next few days...I love, love, love the style of the bag and will determine if color two is noir or... I must draw the limit at two colors (for now!). The black/gray is a new color for me in a bag, so will have to see...

I've got one and carried it with the strap... I think it's pretty cute and handy, but I'm still nervous that the connection isn't strong enough. Not 100% sold. What exactly were you wondering?

Before I formed an attachement to yet another paddy I thought I would ask about the functionality of the strap. I liked the idea of using it messneger style; but, if it is not functional then that might be wasted money.

I guess I will have to take it out of the box later today to see for myself.

I can't believe the server went down after I took all those pictures. I was ready to upload and TFS was like, "sorry! Check back in a few hours!" man.

Anyways, check out the inside plate -- where the rivet is -- it's misplaced. But the leather is to die for.

Also the color is not exact, it was evening and I had to photograph it w/o flash b/c my flash is soooo strong that it distorts the color even more. The color of this bag is the color of this font, exactly.

I'm going to take a photo of my Blanc hobo so you can all help me compare.

loganz - let me know what you think about yours. I'm on the fence sending mine back but as roey said, it may be my only opportunity to own a tan. (I think mine was a return with a few loose stitches and not 100% happy w/leather on back - elsewhere it's great) If one shows up again I may order it to compare, so if yours is headed back to NM I'll keep a close eye on their web ... OR try to get an adjustment from BG.

Too many spring fashion color bags in my closet - I just can't justify it! The leather isn't as squishy soft as the practical browns I'm considering and the leather on the lock has a teensy gap where it meets in the back, but if $$ were no object I'd keep it in a -beat!

Hmmm, hope I can hold onto my resolve!

bijin--i saw this bag in NM boston, didn't like the shiny black leather so i didn't bother to try it on to see how the chain sits on my shoulder. it is a real eye-catcher though if not for the shininess!

klow-chloe' - I was cracking up at your post. You are sooooo right! I just can't get over the leather on the grenat (or red, or whatever the heck they're calling this one -- there was no card inside the bag). I am definitely leaning towards the white, definitely. If I can just have a few sent to me so I can compare and pick the best out of the bunch, still waiting to hear back from the SA's. Its so elegant, I think. But the red is so squishy. Ugh.
