mammab, I can see why the decision is so hard! That leather looks so scrumptious! However, I still think you should go with the blanc hobo, and continue your search for the perfect red bag.

Wow, that's tough! Before I saw the grenat's leather I was thinking it should be the one to go back since it's not the color red you wanted - you may have a gorgeous leather bag but it just sits in the closet because you have no use for the color.... But it IS very pretty :-)

Can the white paint splatters be flaked off with your fingernail?

I would keep the white because - if it were me - I would always have pangs of doubt over the color and the weird rivet... and if you keep buying Chloe's you'll run across one with beautiful leather again!

mammab - I just love the blanc color. I can see why the subtle nuances of that bag might bother you; can you ask them to send you another one; as someone else suggested - offer you a temporary credit so that you can compare bags and then send back one.

Personally, i the white more. I agree with Green that you should send it back since it's not the red you really want. I think you will always be questioning the color and won't be satisfied with it even though the leather is scrumptious.

I'm trying one out and at first I thought it was the perfect bag, but now I'm finding it harder to get in and out of than the satchel... and besides, I don't get to enjoy looking down at my pretty bag with it slung over my shoulder! Roey, I know, I know...... I was thinking I could live with that paint splatter but it's always bugged me so I dealt with it by wrapping leather strap that holds the key around the hardware a few times so I couldn't see it. I've actually just found out I have 2 more white hobos coming my way so I can compare all 3 together.

Thanks for your opinions everyone Jelly, loganz, Green, blu-genie -- it really helped me a lot! Sometimes I need good whack on the head to bring me to reality. The white is really unacceptable the way it is and I also failed to mention there is a knick right on the front of the lock which is noticeable. And then the red.....that plate is just wacky! Not to mention I didn't even get a chloe bag but rather a Gucci and NO TAGS whatsoever with the bag.

The red is going back and yes Roey -- my whiskey is similar and I love it. Thanks for reminding me

Blu-genie -- I agree, it is harder to get in and out of compared to the satchel, but I love it b/c it's bigger than the satchel and I happen to carry everything around with me and have a toddler ontop of it all. I have the satchel and it does fit everything I need, but its a tight fit so I found myself carrying around the hobo more for practicality reasons. I know what you mean about not being able to look down at your bag and adore it.

It doesn't look right to me. I thought that metallic paddies which came out S/S 06 should have a 10 digit serial. This one has 6 digits, and the font in which they are stamped look wrong. And the price especially indicates that this is most likely a fake.

And a noir zippy update...tried bag on last night (exhausted, black juicy sweats and black t for lounging...liked bag style, but unsure of color comfort)...tried bag on this morning (hair, makeup, clothing...check!)...think it is a keeper!

J Star - keepers, well, I've done a complete 180 - first instinct was bleu satchel and choc hobo were staying, but now I think the winners are whiskey and tan w/strap. Oh yeah, must remember to call BG about discount on strappy bag...wish me luck! And I may roadtrip to PDX today instead so I'll post an update on what I see at WaSq and downtown
