Thank you for the advice everyone:flower: . I am in the EU,so duties don't apply...but if I decide to go for this I shall ask them to carefully inspect the bag.
This depends on my selling the black Stam I've just got,and which I love one moment but hate the next.:ninja:
ETA...bluegenie...just seen your post...hmmm...kind of worrisome :(
I wish anywhere else had the black pocket paddy.
Are they as sold out at Chloe boutiques everywhere?

I pre ordered 3 things from LVR, neither of them have been shipped yet so I wanted to cancel one of the items. The person I talked to was very rude but they still cancelled the one item. II'm still not sure if they ever refunded me for it I asked but didn't get a reply. I know Iwont be buying from them anymore unless I'm saving several hundred $$.

Guessgirl96 - Wow, even rude on the phone, huh? I was looking at their policy page today and it says it can take up to 2 billing cycles for credit to appear on your statement - don't know if it takes that long for items you never received...?

Of course if I am so cranky with LVR I wouldn't be cruising their webpage daily and contemplating ordering from them again.... but I can't, I can't I can't!!! (mainly cuz I can't afford any more, but it's sooooo sooooo hard to pass up a good deal!)

Quirky - considering you'd probably get most of your money back it might be worth ordering if you can't find it elsewhere. :flower:

If it was a preorder and hadnt been 20/25 days since your order they wouldn't have charged your card yet.

My bag is currently in route, should be back to LVR by Monday my time so we'll see how long it takes for them to process it and send out my exchange (assuming there is any left)

Oh dear...I'm thinking maybe I'll just leave it. nawth I hope all goes well with your order/exchange.

When I bought my Rick Owens top they were fine...but then it was an uncomplicated purchase.

It's such a problem living in a place with no designer stores (well none that I like...they have LV and TOD's and they now have a Chanel store in Amsterdam)...I usually have to buy sight unseen and often on the net :(.

QuirkyCool....I saw a black paddy pocket in Selfridges London today...might be worth calling to see if they ship to Holland...I would think they do

Secondly: I have only ever bought a top from Luisaviaroma...what is their service and quality like with bags?

I wish I had a positive experience w/ LVR like the other ladies on this forum...sigh.

I tried placing my pre-order online for a whisky paddy back in early Feb. The site wouldn't accept my verified Chase Visa/debit card. It kept giving me the same message "payment failed". So I called my bank to check and they said there was nothing wrong w/ the card and that I could use it anywhere in the world. Funds were not a problem either as my DH alway maintains at least 10K in our checking acct.

I contacted Cristina at LVR to do a phone pre-order instead. She took all my info and and said the card would be charged once they receive the bag. Well, when the bag finally came in early March, they tried charging the card but their system wouldn't take the card. That led me to believe that Visa/debit wouldn't work overseas. I don't have another visa credit card to use as we only keep 2 cards ( visa/debit and amex).

Cristina suggested that I do a bank wire transfer. After 4 days and 2 trips to my bank, I finally succeeded w/ the wire transfer (Cristina gave me incomplete info on LVR bank acct info). Mind you, for the duration of this back and forth emails and phone calls to get the $ transferred, I was assured by Cristina that my whisky was on hold for me at the warehouse. Well, when the $ wire went through, Cristina emailed to tell me they have sold out all of their whisky paddies! She did not know what happen to my whisky that was supposedly on hold for moi! I'm still waiting on my refund.

After 1.5 month of waiting and dreaming of owning a paddy, that was my experience w/ LVR.

I have a question for those who successfully ordered online w/ LVR. Did you use a regular visa credit card or a visa/debit card? I just need to figure out why I couldn't use mine through their site.

My Visa debit/check card would NOT work. It was being flagged as fraudulant activity and the bank couldnt figure out how to get the system to accept the fact that it wasn't. Same thing happened with my regular visa CC, but that bank was able to get it to work. In either case I woud have had to call to have the limit raised on both the debit and regular CC but even raising the limit of my visa debit did not work.

Someone is selling their whiskey paddy on the purseforum

We have a 5k limit on our visa/debit per day, so that was not a problem.

I finally located one from Intermis in NY. I'm expecting it this week. Can't wait!

I pre-ordered an Edith bag through the LVR site w/o problems using a Visa CC. I changed my mind and cancelled the order and got an immediate refund...no problems at all.

The Truth about Paddington!

I have had so much fun reading the many posts for this special bag. I am just as obsessed as anyone else. I finally got my own Brown baby from NM. There are no perceivable flaws, and I still love the general design, but the truth is that it is a COMPLETELY impractical bag.

1. The lock weighs at least 8 ounces and with the heavy leather, that's a total of at least 2 pounds empty. With all my junk, that is quite a load!

2. Sure I can wear it on my shoulder, if I have my boobs lopped off! It just hits the wrong way. If the straps were about a 1/2 inch longer there would be no problem.

3. It is impossible to get in and out of quickly. Even with putting the lock on one of the pieces of hardware that holds the strap, you still have to mess with the top connecting pieces of leather and the crazy zippers that look ridiculous when separated.

Now if I really want a practical bag, I suppose I can just buy a Lesportsac!
Has anyone else shared my experiences?
Thanks, Raquel;)

Hi ladies...I'm considering buying the medium pocket paddington in black, and SoCal's pictures are making me even more determined!! Thanks for the goodness on page 506 SoCal!! :flower:

Two questions: Firstly,is there a way to tell whether "Noir" now is proper black or that off-grey affair that emerged in the autumn? Because the blacker the better for me...

Oh and thirdly...in pictures the pocket paddy seems like a more square shape..higher and shorter than the classical Paddy...is this so? I would prefer it different, rather than that it be a classical Paddy with a pocket.

Thanks for any help..:flower:

Hi QuirkyCool. I am having a love affair with my black pocket. The pocket comes in both noir/non-metallic anthracite and black. The Chloe tag from my black pocket reads "washed black" (not noir).

I think the pocket is stuffed with tissue in most photos. It does look square when stuffed, but is much more slouchy IRL. The profile is different than the traditional paddy. The traditional paddy has more of a triangle shape in profile when on the shoulder. The pocket is more rectangular with slouchy sides. :D

SoCal - 2 more questions on the pocket paddy - is the handle drop longer than on the satchel?? And there is no slip pocket on back of bag like the satchel, correct? Thanks! :flower:

I don't have a traditional satchel here to get exact measurements, but I would say, yes. The handle drop is a bit longer on the pocket paddy. Also yes, there is no slip pocket on the back. The front pocket is great for cell phone and lip gloss storage. I will be "auditioning" for my second pocket paddy this week...

Hello and welcome! :flower:

I have to agree with this point. I hear everyone else say the bag is comfy to wear over the shoulder but it drives me BONKERS. I would need at least 1/2" longer as well but ideally an inch or two.

The rest of the things don't bother me, this is just the price way pay for the greatness of the Paddy. But if it's too much for you, maybe consider returning/selling?

The handle drop is perfect for me as I can easily carry it handheld, on my arm or on my shoulder  Actually I was expecting the paddy to be a bigger pain to use but I'm surprised it wasnt as bad.

I've gotten so used to getting in and out of it that I don't find it a problem at all. I just always leave mine open with the lock hanging over, giving enough weight that it sort of closes the bag. If I'm going to be on the bus or somehwere I need to worry about pickpockets, I just close one side of the zipper, and feel protected.

i think the front and back big pocket area its wayy tooo deep sometiems hard to find my cellphone =P

Same with me. It fits comfortably over my shoulder even though I'm not small busted - but I think the straps have stretched some.
