Dear SoCal, karma to you! I got my Blanc Paddington shopping tote today from Henri&Bendal. It is BEAUTIFUL.... The SA said it is the last one in their store. Thank you so much!

The new S/S chloe paddy are in store now but the price is increased. Now a paddy satchel is $1540.The very first paddy is only $1380. Chloe increases their price like at every season.

ugh I hate fedex/customs. My returned bag has been sitting in Italy for over a day The estimated arrival date is the 16th but who knows if it will make it. But LVR did finally get back to me, once they receive my return they'll ship out the mousse.

Hi everyone,
Well, the first Paddingtons have been posted on ebay, so we know where they are all heading, (although they do look absolutely amazing, swoon!!!) and the prices they are at already are unbelievable. Just got me to thinking, what is the most money you would spend on a handbag, if money was no object, or indeed, even if it was, would you go without other things to secure the bag of your dreams.

I am on the wait list for the tan version of the Paddington, which hopefully will be here in a few days, but no amount of money would make me sell it on after waiting for it for so long!

What are your thoughts, do we sometimes have more money than sense, or is high fashion worth every penny!!! A friday afternoon conundrum for you!

I am also wondering about the baby wipes... I don't have children so, please tell me... Are all brands the same? (That is, safe to use on your paddy...as opposed to your child...) How often do you use them?

socal- thanks for the differnce between craie and blanc, guess what ive noticed, the handle on my bag and the bag istself the 2 are different cream colors...the handle is more creamie yellowuish the bag is more pinky..ahah i was kinda worried but then i thought, hey thats unique!

I had the same 2 tone thing on the first season tan paddington I breifly had. It personally didn't bug me much

What I mean about the piping, is that the color coating on the leather rubs off and underneath theres a suede like material. Becuase it doesn't have that smooth finish the coating does, it gets dirty very very easily. It's not really horrible and is only around the back corners.

Oh this poor thread has suffered some action since our interruption earlier this week - it almost cured my addiction but I feel it coming back!! Here's to getting this back on the first page....

my paddy count - I finally decided to return Whiskey instead of Choc Hobo, so I'm down to hobo and tan paddy as the keepers, with whiskey and blue off to find other loving homes. As in love as I was with whiskey it just didn't fit in my wardrobe as well as choc or tan. I feel like I just committed mortal handbag sin.

Did anyone ever get a Taupe bag? Need more than LVR & eBay. Daisy66 can you still post more pics of your taupe zippy? Puh-leeeeeze?

Nawth21 any new word on your mousse shipping out? I am still waiting for my key from LVR - they said it would still be 10-14 days which isn't horrible if I think it will really happen - but sometimes I fear I'll just drop off their radar completely. I know their customer service is crap but I tried anyway to ask for a small credit towards another bag (taupe) for not being able to use my tan bag w/out key and they said no-way. Geez any US retailer would do something to fix a goof - did you ever get any concession for your goof or are you biting the whole thing? I'm bummed cuz I'm curious to buy a Taupe satchel but I don't want to purchase from them again. Maybe I'll get over my bad-taste like you did and be able to deal. At the LVR price I'd be able to resell easier if I didn't like it and spare the guilt of returning it to a great SA

oh and like beaumonde - I'd like another quick 411 on which to buy and what to do with Appleguard. I know it's buried in the thread but a refresher would be great! (and comes with karma!)

My return hasnt even made it back, it was stuck in customs for 3 days and was finally released today. Fedex was in contact with LVR so no idea what the delay was. Should be there monday. Havent heard about any concessions but I did send multiple emails/letters to various people regarding my dissapointment with their CS. They did say they would send out the mousse once my exchange got there.

That's crazy about customs. I shipped something to Italy Fed-ex and it was in the buyer's hands in 3 days! Wonder if it's their no-importing-leather thing which shouldn't get stuck when going to a manufacturer. Arrrgh! If you weren't exchanging would you ever purchase from them again?

I'm just happy it didnt get sent back to me or just vanish as somethings do when stuck in customs. I would maybe purchase something again if it was something small and not quite as expensive and there was no chance that I'd need to return it. I dunno. If the prices were closer to the US prices then no way. It would be really tempting if they ever get the shoes in I want but ugh shoes are even worse considering the sizing/fit ect.

I just posted this in the Chloe Edith/Gladys/etc forum: "I did the whole apple leather care/ apple garde treatment on my whiskey Edith yesterday and the outcome was excellent! Just a warning for anyone who does the same -- you will see some colour come off onto the rag, but I think it's just surface colour -- made no difference to the bag at all."

Blu Genie -- I wound up spraying 2 coats of apple garde, mostly because I didn't think the first "misting" (you'll see what I mean) covered as much as I expected. I can see how too many coats could give the bag a strange sheen though. Balancing act!

For the Paddington, I'd probably tape off the metal plates as well as the side buckles. On the Edith, the garde wiped off the hardware easily b/c the hardware's much smoother than the brass on the Paddington.

Now let the spring showers come!

So it sounds like you bought the rain & stain spray, and not the leather cleaner or conditioner? I recall someone (roey?) saying not to bother with one of those.....

It's the cleaner that's no good, the conditioner is fabulous. Although I don't know how you use the conditioner in conjunction with the spray as I've only ever used the conditioner. It works wonders though.

You'd condition, let dry, spray the first coat of rain/stain repellant and let dry and then spray the second coat.
