Question on Paddington embossed lock

Is the embossed "Chloe" on the padlocks of the new Paddingtons coming in with GOLD lettering? And, could somone please tell me what the colors are for the new Paddingtons?

Thanks DayDreamBeliever and jenn_xoxo! I think maybe I'll just wait and see if the peeling gets worse. Right now the lock is fine (knock on wood!) so I'm not too stressed about it.

Can anyone tell me whether the external zips on both sides of the Chloe Paddington bag should slide off (to create a bigger opening)? I saw two paddington bags in the department store some time ago and they easily slid off. I recently bought one on ebay and it just stays put, as if they were those normal zips that you cannot detach.

Also, the odd thing about this bag is that it seems to have gotten a color coating..... I did a little test patch on the bag by gently massaging a really good leather cream on (this leather cream is used by places like Gucci, Loewe, etc to clean and soften their bags)... and the color of the bag ended up on my cloth!

Did I buy a fake? It seems so authentic.... and it came from a seemingly reputable seller.....

Please help!

I was about to say regarding the zippers, that they should be able to be "undone" but maybe the earlier versions were stationary? I can't recall, but someone will be able to tell you for sure. In the meantime, check the earlier posts, as I vaguely recall discussions about the zippers, just not the specifics!

Thanks Aimee3. Yeah, "undone" is probably a better word for it. I recall the earlier discussions were more about the brand of zippers used, but don't think I saw anything on whether the zippers can be undone....

My zippers don't come apart, although they look like they should. I got mine shortly after they came out from NM. I had asked on here about that and some people said theirs did come apart, some others didn't. Some have said they have had their sewn closed so they wouldn't come apart.

If you post a photo of it we would be able to tell if its authentic or not. If it was bought from ebay there is always some doubt.

I'm not sure of the color coming off. What color is it, was the bag used?

Hey guys! Have you seen this before? I just ordered this Paddington Camera Bag from Neiman Marcus. I'll use it for the summer. I'm into cameras and electronics. I love to collect digital cameras. Anyway, it'll so match my new tan Paddington. BTW, what's the name of my new Chloe? When I bought it, it was just named the Paddington Padlock Satchel. It's from the Spring/Summer 2006 line. Anyway, what do you think of the camera bag?

Hi Aspen. It's the tan color. Unfortunately I lent my camera to a friend... will not be able to post a pic of it for the next 2 weeks....

I paid quite a high price for it.... Plus the seller seemed relatively okay.

The seller said it's new, but looking at it, I am sure it has been used.... not heavily used, but defintely more than once or twice. I can see a little bit of the stitching undone on the internal zip, the padlock and on the leather strap that holds the key.... the ends are kind of burnt off to stop it from fraying more I guess.

The other thing that worries me a lot is the color that came off. It was more than just a little bit. The intensity of the color on the cloth I used is exactly the same color as the bag.....

As for the external zips that does not come apart. I find it kind of disappointing. I figured from reading about all the peeling problem, I'd try to protect the padlock by putting one of the leather squares (sorry, don't know how to describe it, it's the ones that are attached to the external zips if you want to lock the bag) between the padlock and the hardware. But if I do that I cannot put or retrieve larger items or A4 paper from the bag without crumpling them because the opening is too small....

Actually now that I look closely at it, I see some tan paint on some of the studs. I found more loose stitches on the bag as well....

Man, the loose stitching is really starting to bother me. I'm afraid with one or two uses the bag will start to fall apart!

Has anyone with a tan paddington bag tried to condition their bag with a leather cream? If so, have you had the same problem of paint coming off?

hey girls, so i went to the chloe in selfridges today asking for advice on how to protect my paddy's leather, and the SA told me that chloe doesn't recommend anything for the leather because of the way the leather was made.. she said the most i should use is a natural wax but nothing more than that or it'll change the texture or make it shinier! i've read previous posts and many people have used some kind of leather protector on their paddys.. what do you guys think?

my zippers can come undone and there is YKK embossed on it, mines was form the autmn 2005 season. im nto sure about the leather color coming of since i never tried conditioning it or anthing and mines is cream hwoever you know the circlie studs around the handles, when i reived mines from Bahrain the leather was a little off meaning hat there were a little blue stuff on it and the leather wasnt perfect but it adds vintageness to it. Can you please give me the seller's username and do you hav e picures when he/she was put out for auctioning the bag ? did the seller ahve a recpeit?

I am sorry to hear about your purse. Who did you purchase your purse from on ebay? I would like to see what else they have to sell to see if anything looks fake. Or if you can't say their name just post one of their item numbers that are currently listed.
Have you tried to contact them? How long ago did you buy it?

but the smell is gone now, so glad
have you put on any leather protector on your bag? i talked to a chloe SA today and she told me chloe hasn't officially recommended anything and she said the leather was prepared differently so any sprays would ruin the leather (or make it shiner) is this true?
