Thanks girls!

madem0iselle - I have an ebay generated invoice from the seller..... this is the pic from the seller when it was listed. There was only one pic. My zipper has YKK embossed on it....

glitterdoll - I have not contacted the seller yet. I just needed to confirm with all you experts out there before I do. I just received it yesterday, but I actually bought it back in late February! It took such a long time that I thought it was lost. I originally bought the bag for 2 trips I had to make, one in April and another in May. Because it has been so long I really thought it was lost. Plus I felt as if I was doing all the calling (with the post office and customs) and following up. The seller only budges when I keep asking about it. Since I have my May trip coming up, I already asked my hubby to get me a Paddy from the UK on his business trip. He's already gotten it.... I cannot believe my luck... now the bag turned up. I am so mad! :furious: The seller has nothing listed on ebay at the moment and because the listing was back in Feb, it's not even in my 'my ebay' list anymore....however when I bought the bag she had 100% feedback. She did say the bag was purchased from Saks and she had all the original papers... but she never did send any of the receipts or tags with the bag. I can return the bag only based on authenticity and within 3 days. When I first asked about the receipt she was quite rude about the whole thing saying she cannot be bothered looking coz she just had surgery.... then later she said she found the receipt when she was packing and will send it when she finds it again!

Actually, I found an item she recently sold... item number is 6848854956.

^^^The leather looks too smooth, but I'd have to get a better picture to know for sure.

ETA: Maybe it looks fake because it doesn't have the stuffing in it.

Oh no...... That is my worst fear.... the hardware does have that brassy look to it (not shiny) and the lock is heavy.... I am not sure how good the fakes are nowadays...

I have never actually seen the tan colored paddington in the stores before, I think the stock just went so fast when they came out that it was just impossible! I have however seen the Whiskey and Cream in a deprtment store some time ago when they were on hold for someone. I do not recall the leather being 'coated' like that... plus you can undo the zips on the side. Perhaps the seller used the bag, decided to restore the bag with a leather dye or something, then tried to sell it as a new bag on ebay.... I feel so cheated right now.

Does anyone else think it is a fake (esp. looking at the other items she's recently sold on ebay)?

Shyshy, How did you pay? Credit card? Paypal? You could have it reversed. You could say you received a fake.

She should have sent the receipt with the bag, surgery or not!!! :(

Look at what Intuition has. They are doing a "Target Couture" line. Not only have they copied the Paddington design but Target too. Its $250!! I would think Target has a copyright on the bullseye and name. For a "celebrity" shop they sometimes have junk.

shyshy- i'm sorry, but your bag looks fake to me too. looking at it just gives me the feeling that it's off.

shy shy ^ The taupe colour exists.
Uhm... not so sure your bag is fake. Need other pics.

that inspired target paddington/chloe paddington is ridiculous. what's worse is the price on it.

Hi all, thank you for all your expert opinions. It is so difficult without my camera for 2 weeks, sigh. :( I would've liked to post some more closeups for you to determine the authenticity of the bag. I have to say the actual color of the bag does look a lot more matte orange than the picture I posted.

glitterdoll - I used paypal, credit card, but thanks for the tip. I did not know you could do that.

gamya - I did go to the department store today to check out their taupe paddys there. The bag I received is definitely tan not taupe. Even though the taupe paddy was the east west style, I did do a quick feature check of the bag. The one I received has all the right studs, thickness of leather pretty similar, except for that "extra coat of paint". The hardware on mine looked brassier than the one in the store in that the store one had a bit of a pinkier tinge whereas mine was more rusty yellow looking.....

^ can you take your Paddington to the store and compare them side by side. The locks on the auth have been a consistant color. The fakes I've seen are a bright brass.

But then again the charms on the Kerala bag have been different shades of gold. So thats not the only way to tell.

Your best bet would be take it to a store and compare or post a photo when you can.

maybee banana colour?
you can compare with this hobo (not taupe colour), new summer colour 2006  :

Shyshy,
I hate to say it, but I just have the feeling your bag is fake. I would contact the seller and tell her everything that is wrong. Tell her you went and compared it to an authentic. I would go on and contact your credit card company and tell them to reverse the charge. Tell them you bought a fake under false pretense. They can do that.
I think she knew she was selling fakes, because she had a 3 day return notice. If it were authentic, she wouldn't worry about people wanting to return items.
