Christian Dior F/W 14.15 Paris

it didn't feel very coherent as a collection, but some of the clothes were just beyond beautiful. i love his color range and the way he treats textures.

This whole collection looked like a Michael Kors show.

I agree. Some good pieces here and there (the corset dresses and the color blocking ones) but overall the suits and the jackets were pretty much the same as in ally his previous RTW collections.

The set looked very psychedelic and therefore interesting, but when the lights went on nothing remained, too bad. I would have liked a statement collection. The music in the first half reminded me of the Blue Man Group. Lots of buttoned up jackets/suits, not very impressive, just the same as always. Rafs work for Dior still looks in my eyes like some students work or Project Runway. It doesn't ooze refinement/sophistication. It is forced and cheap sometimes. Some looks like http://imgbox.com/XKMtIWsb & http://imgbox.com/1QpWVmxv were very pretty. The last three dresses were horrible. And I'm done with his color blocking.

The pantsuits were awful, they looked like maternity wear (as did many dresses), Pucci offered pantsuits in the same colors but they were soooooooo beautiful.

hah….michael kors could only dream of being the cutter that raf simons is.

that said,i will admit it is considerably more uninspired than i've seen prior but the tailoring(as we know raf is capable of)is splendid….some of those suits felt like almost like a tribute to st. laurent in that way with dior's aesthetic. i loved the pops of colour…it felt at once like like parisian garden and neoplasticism. but the overall affect wasn't as strong as i would expect.

I thought the layered dresses were beautiful and brilliantly conceived. Some of the pantsuits are boring in concept, but they really go to the classic Christian Dior look IMO.

The only thing I absolutely hated was the tennis shoe corset lace up dresses. But I hate that style in general.

Looking at the roof set with those disco-future-psychedelic lights made me get curious (and everyone who assisted it, i think) about what the show was going to be. When it started, once more at a Dior show, I was "OoohKay! I'm not sure if I was waiting for that, but maybe I was". We can´t expect a Dior with flattering, dazzling and breathtaking princess dresses as we were used to see in Galliano (Amen!). This is Raf Simons thing, contenporary sports clothes mixed with high couture, a whole new different world. And actually I like it. It's different, it's bold and Raf takes the risk. He's not following nobody's steps. This is a designers view for a couture house, a very ancient one and it is marvellous, fresh and needed. Maybe this is what more designers whrn taking the helm of other brands nedd to do: take it and turn it 360º.

Based on repetition and ''pretty'' tricks that only grab for attention, momentarily so. Clothes without relevance, besides this constant hanging on to the historical.
Waste of some greatly cutted pieces - is how I feel about most of his work for Dior so far. :(

I know, right? Some of the comments here startle me.

michael kors? for real? i feel like i've seen a different collection from everyone else here... the outwear was fantastic (the short sleeved coats are just wonderful) and the color-blocking really worked for me here, all the layered and asymmetric dresses blew me away. could've done without some of the final pieces, but overall i loved this.

the only people that actually like this are people who are raf stans.. an absolutely boring collection lol

Im sorry but Im not always a fan of Raf. For me, I actually think this collection is more wearable than the previous collection. And I would love to own those bags.
