Christian Dior Haute Couture F/W 2013.14 Paris

I dont see why everyone is calling this an Armani knockoff. This looks like PURE Dior, I be if I looked in the CD archive I would find exact pieces in this collection........some of you need to do some research before making these accusations.

it's a matter of feeling, it feels like Armani doesn't mean we presume Raf copies Armarni. learn the difference.

A collection of Thirty-Thousand things that didnt quite fit together.

I can see where your coming from with that look but it stops there. The dress is not unique to Armani.

I dont agree about there being an Armani feeling

the only thing I wanna say is HE is not the right guy for the house.

Well, if this isn't all over the place, I don't know what is. He just tried so many things here, and most of them really didn't work. He did way better when he stuck to more classic fabrics and didn't experiment so much. Ultimately, it just doesn't look appealing.

Not sure where he was going with this collection, but it did end up as a hot mess indeed, and dare I say not the most appealing one.

I can spot a few pieces that look good, but overall there are so many incoherent textures, fabrics and odd, unattractive silhouettes it puts you off.

He did great at RTW. But when it comes to haute couture... No. Just no. I'm not trying to compare him to Galliano, but of course you can't avoid that when we're talking Dior Haute Couture. I miss Dior HC that used to **** with your mind like "how is this even exist?!" Like you're craving for more, gasping to breathe the air of Dior haute couture

And FINALLY some black models. It took him 3 seasons (or 4, idk i didn't count), a harsh critic from James Scully and Jourdan Dunn ranting before they send some black models at the show (and wow 3 black models in a row too)

Had another look, it's worse on the second pass.

Can we honestly say this is better than Bill Gaytten's Memphis couture nightmare? MAYBE. But it's certainly worse than Gaytten's subsequent couture collections.

I really like it, not as much as last couture colection but I love the whole mood. I just think (as always) it was terribly edited, I havent seen a Dior colection by Raf that was well edited (maybe the resort one), it was done so well in Jil but now in Dior it looks a bunch of looks put together on the runway.

Pretty, classy but incoherent collection. Apparently that is the inspiration
“I began by looking at women from different continents and cultures who wear couture, their personal style… the collection evolved to be about Dior not just being about Paris and France, but about the rest of the world and how many fashion cultures impact on the house and on myself”

In my head, I see this as how the Dior lady would probably dress herself in each continent [?]. i don't know, that's how I interpreted it.
Anyway, good effort, average execution. Individually, the clothes are wonderful.

I would not insult Armani by comparing this to him.

I love love love a lot of stand alone pieces, but I agree that it doesn't look coherent and some pieces are down right awful.

at least he hear me about the Bar Jacket, finally, no more of them,
those dress at the end, the fabric...just so much of them. so heavy... it's not even elegant anymore...

Yikes. It's really terrible. And HQ pictures prove to be terrible unflattering, too. So many looks that seem to be poorly fit or constructed (seems like this is becoming a trend in his Couture collections).

There's really nothing in this collection that genuinely makes the woman look beautiful. I mean, the models look terrible in most of these garments - it's certainly going to look sloppy Jennifer Lawrence!

Way too many ideas, way too many colors, fabrics, textures. It's just really amateur looking. I hate it.

Raf just...doesn't get it. He's proving more and more with each collection what a terrible fit he is for Dior. There's no chemistry. There's nothing about the collections he's done for the house yet that give me any indication he even has the slightest care and respect and love for the house. At this point, I think he did it for the paycheck.
