Christian Dior HC S/S 08 Paris

sure. nothing is ground breaking, but i still like it. for me, it has a theatrical mod 60s vibe. lots of over the top volume and color- eye candy. the shoes still gives a japanese feel reminiscent of dior's s/s 07 HC.

After seeing the entire collection, all I can say is that I like it, but I don't love it. It's just too much of been-there-done-that for me. There are a few outfits that I really like, but other than that, it just feels like he threw the cruise and the last couture collection into a blender and voila.

it's like a more glammed up version of the cruise collection, which i liked quite a bit. the makeup is flawless!

The hair accessories look like sci-fi ufo's and also reminds me so much of the Hussein Chalayan Spring 07 show. I'm rather disappointed in it, it's way too drag-queens-who-lunch. The shoes are absolutely fierce.

I dislike it.

The colors suit a fall collection more and the shapes are monstrous.

It lacks the lightness and delicacy of a spring collection.

Too tacky, too hard, too much.

I feel a bit disappointed, not sure about it - some pieces looks so random and I don't like the set. Weird :ninja:

What happened? :ermm:
It seems Galliano has been churning out the same collection for CD for Couture, Rtw, and Resort for the past 2 seasons.

I think most of the pieces are stunning but I feel like it is a continuation of SS '07, the shapes, some of the fabrics, even some of the hats look the same only reworked and embroidered, I was looking forward for this collection and even though I think it's beautiful something seems to be missing

The more pictures i see the worse it gets. Now it just seems tacky to me

Can't agree more... I'm bored of all his designs, they are the same. He really needs to focus on different themes or sources of inspiration. I hope he tries to do something different and not continue doing this the same way because "they work".

I love the colours, fabrics, embroidery, some shapes and make up, but it's nothing special for me... After his great SS07 and FW07/08 haute couture collections I expected something different. I'm a bit confused.

Galliano knows what he is doing this is bland same tired act, but japanesee clients are buying dior couture so playing to them is a smart game.
God bless Riccardo he is the only one surprizing us.

I love this definitely prefer it to last spring.

Ok you can't see the 60s in this look but the triangles are obvious !

Yes, I was telling that to my mother a couple of minutes ago. I can't wait for Givenchy ^_^
