What do you think of this style?

Ive got a few pairs but cant find a top to suit

Great!
High waisted jeans and now high waisted shorts.

I really don't understand the appeal.

i love them! i have a few pairs i bought at a vintage store. i prefer slim fitting tanks and tees with them

I like how Chloë Sevigny does them, but personally - I'm sticking to jumpsuits.

Victorian style, short-sleeved, possibly slightly pouf sleeved, button up shirts would be fitting, I think. Depending on what type of high waisted shorts, you have. Right now, I am picturing the black, dressy, high waisted type shorts.

i love them! i got a super cute pair of black cuffed ones from forever21, i'm dying for some denim ones but i have a really specific image in my mind of how i want them to look..

I am quite short, with only little legs, and when I tried on the high-waisted pants that my boutique stocks, it looked a little strange rather than cool, just like I was wearing really big pants. I think its better for tall girls with long legs

to be graceless for a second
i just know if this trend continues long enough and the wrong people get ahold of it...which they will
eye-r*ping camel toe will run amok!

but other than that, i think it's the cutest thing

I have a pair of high-waisted minishorts, I usually wear them with a rollneck, or something equally covering

Yeah...I wore high-waisted shorts when I was 12 and clueless. They are not a good look for me. They look good in the first two pics of post #6.

I got really into this last year after I saw these from Sportmax (ss06), I went to the boutique but they didn't have them =(

I like them because they look almost like skirts

I really like them. I have a pair in a dark green check that are actually my school shorts (uniform that is) and love to wear them. I would wear them on weekends however the risk of being one of those weird people that wear school uniforms on all days of the week is not the kind of territory I would like to enter. Consequently I'm now on the lookout for a pair. I prefer the looser styles not really a fan of the bunching around the crotch and I don't have the legs for the super super short shorts Chloe Sevigny style. However they are actually good for short legs as they make them appear longer.

Believe it or not my high waisted check shorts have sparked fashion controversy in my area (ok so I exaggerate a little) whilst wondering around town I have had numerous stares from those of all ages, one girl who stared at me for about 5 minutes with a look on her face that says "what on earth are you wearing? you are a freak", people laughing in my face, girl's making comments loudly right in front of me and older women who stare at me with smirk's on their faces while also pointing me out to their friends. Sure is disheartening to say the least but on the other hand what the hell???? It's an item of clothing, I think perhaps if I walked around with a short dress and my boobs hanging out I would get less attention.

In Europe, these are called "walking" or "golf" shorts. Definite yes, IMO. I prefer small belt loops, wide legs to mid-thigh, and side zip (when I can find them). I usually wear a sleeveless shirt (tucked in) to go with the shorts. Here are some of my favorites:

Damn it all, I was hoping there was hardly a difference between high-waist and high-cut, just to express my bemusement.

super cute. anyone know where those shorts are from that lindsay lohan or chloe are wearing?

the ones from sportmax that are wide look better imo, easier to make them work I think. The only tight ones I thought looked good in the pictures were the ones on Lindsay Lohan, the blue ones paired with the LA tee.
