High waist shorts

i like it
but hate the kinds with buttons that go all the way up
or even used with skirts and jeans
really ugly
and the 40s style ones that are like "high waisted booty shorts"
the ones keira knightly are wearing are not my cup of tea

What an EXCITING thread.

My love of high-waisted anything was declared after seeing Cher in Mermaids last night...

Denim is my preferred material.

Now I'm off to look for some inexpensive options...

I was looking at Wet Seal's website for high-waist shorts. It was a field study I personally conducted a few days before Hurricane Ike came. I'm a fan of cuffed short-shorts, especially trouser-like non-denim shorts. Some of the high-waist shorts I've seen from Wet Seal's website were pretty cute in my view. I guess you can say that I get a bit burnt out from denim. Denim is America's favorite fabric, but I often wonder if there can be any fabric better-liked than denim all the time. You could say I'm a fan of sailor button garments. A classy pair of high-waist shorts with (maybe) some sailor button detail would be a dream pair of high-waist shorts. Someone mentioned that he/she doesn't like high-waist shorts with all kinds of buttons going up them. I just don't really like denim jean-like high-waist shorts. They look terrible to me.

A celebrity influence on high-waisted bottoms is from the beautiful (at least to me) pop star Katy Perry. Anyone seen the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards and saw Katy Perry saw her in her high-waist shorts outfit. Certainly a little influence on high-waists. In fact, Katy Perry really seems to be able to sport high-waist bottoms quite well to me.
