By all accounts, one even firsthand, Reese is a genuinely down-to-earth and friendly person (when she's not hammered, apparently). I think Alba is a better guess, especially with that commercial.

I really doubt it's Reese. I think a lot of it is wishful thinking in light of her recent behaviour. I also don't think she's someone who relies on nannies that much. I think Jessica is more likely.

Has anybody seen Lainey's post from earlier today about Ryan Gosling (with photos from him on the set of the movie he's directing)? I think there might be a clue to a blind item at the end but I'm not sure which one. Something about the 'chairman' of hollywood with salt and pepper hair. I'm assuming George Clooney, but I don't know if she's referring to something she wrote about them from a while ago.

I don't remember anything either in terms of BIs she's had in the past along those lines. I just assumed it was just a random bit about Clooney being impatient with Ryan's method of acting when he directed him.

We were all a little sad, I think, when it was confirmed that they’d broken up. No one sadder than him. But she left him because of his drinking. It was excessive, and with the experience of her last relationship, she saw the signs and opted for self-preservation. In addition to his relationship with alcohol though, he also had an unconventional relationship with sex. Think...Michael Fassbender in Shame. Along those lines. Though he was faithful to her, totally, there are addiction issues he clearly has to address. And he’s doing that now, going to meetings, reaching out to another celebrity in recovery with whom he’s worked, as some of their issues are quite similar. He’s almost a month sober now and, yes, he’s doing it, in part, to get her back which... well... they know that’s not the way, don’t they? A few people close to him don’t think he’s really taking it seriously if he hasn’t committed to rehab. And she can see that too. For her, this is permanent, even though he doesn’t seem to be able to accept it.

I guess Jason Segel’s chances of reconciling with her... are pretty sh-tty right now. As I’ve previously reported, in an unseen kind of way, ahem, she was pretty firm about their split. He has some issues to work out on his own anyway. It’s good to see her back out there.

Miranda Kerr’s had a busy week in New York. She arrived in town last week and worked on a photo shoot. Over the weekend she hit up several fashion parties. And she was at the MET Gala on Monday night in a black dress with a bandeau-ish top. By the way, a word on why I don’t include very many models in my MET Gala wrap -- how hard can it be for them, really?!?

Anyway, while Miranda’s been enjoying the NYC party circuit, she’s run into Gerard Butler several times. He too was at the MET Gala. And on Tuesday night, Spittle showed up at The Great Gatsby screening where, according to Page Six, he and Miranda were talking very closely, an extension, ahem, of a conversation they were having the night before, and photographed doing so. When they found out that there were pictures, I’m told Spittle made a deal with photographers to get rid of those shots in exchange for some other ones to be arranged at a later date. He apparently promised it would be worth their while.

If you’ve been reading my blog a while, for more than 2 days and less than 20 years, you’d know this isn’t the first time Miranda’s put a green hat on Orlando Bloom’s head, right? He wears them all the time.

He’s a big movie star. She’s had one really major role, and is already booked for half a dozen new projects. You probably already know that they are dating. What you may not know are the facts behind the pairing. It’s a public relations set up. She is bisexual. He is gay. In fact, his ex-wife left him because she found him in bed with another guy! But for now, together, these two attractive actors make for crazed paparazzi and great photo ops. Well, that is, at least until their contract expires in a couple of months.
