Kanye's Mom Passes Away

OMG- soo saad...God I can't imagine how he feels...soo unexpected...that tells you how plastic surgery shouldnt be taken as lightly as it is these days...RIP

When I heard the news, it reminded me of Clueless when Cher walks by her mother's pic and says..."Wasn't my mom a total Betty? She died when I was young. A freak accident during a routine liposuction."

I think it's a great reminded to all of us that no surgery is completely 100% safe. Because of all the documentaries and TV shows depicting plastic surgery as this easy, hassle-free routine think you do in your lunch break, a lot of people forget that things like liposuction and breast augmentation can actually kill you and there is no way to safeproof it. Maybe people start to treat aesthetic surgery a bit more seriously, at least I hope so. And poor Kanye....

i hope kanye makes it through this ok, atleast he has alexis to be there for him.

its tragic that such a routine procedure was the cause of death, she was very young.

kayne often talks about a rough childhood and his hardships, even almost dying himself in a car accident (ie. the reason he made "through the wire") its sad that even through his accomplishments and success, he still continues to face such pain and loss.

RIP Mrs.West.

She could have lived for another 30/40 years, yet her vanity killed her. Tragic.

Even more sad news:

TMZ has learned that just weeks before Donda West died, a plastic surgeon refused to perform procedures on her because of a health condition that could have led to a heart attack.

We've learned Beverly Hills physician, Dr. Andre Aboolian, was set to perform a tummy tuck and breast reduction on Ms. West, but told her she needed to get clearance from an internist whom Dr. Aboolian recommended. We're told West never went to that doctor, and subsequently had the procedures performed -- but not by Dr. Aboolian.

Story developing ...

I give much credit to the doctor who refused to perform the surgery. I wonder if the doctor who actually did perform it gave her a warning too...

Can't ignore the warnings. Still sad.

this is absolutely tragic....and as awful as it is to say, it is horrible proof of how dangerous our own vanity can be..
i cant help but think 'if only she had been happy with herself the way she was....'

you cant think in terms of 'if only...' but this is indeed so awful...
my heart goes out to kanye and all their loved ones....i cannot imagine...

Yeah I think that plastic surgery is so common these days that people forget how serious of an operation it actually is, and even though we hear the horror stories, most people still have the "it could never happen to me" mentality.

Well in reality someone did put a stop to her vanity...a doctor refused but she didn't listen. That is the greatest tragedy here...

well someone tried...and i suppose that's all you can do...what a great shame that she didnt listen..

Here is some info from perezhilton.com, in case anyone wants to make donations. :(

Kanye West, his family and friends would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and kind words that have come in from across the country since the death of his mother, Dr. Donda West.
After working in higher education for 31 years, Dr. Donda West and Kanye West co-founded the Kanye West Foundation with the mission of helping to combat the severe dropout problem in high schools across the country. The first and signature initiative of the Kanye West Foundation is Loop Dreams. Designed to capitalize on students existing interest in hip-hop, Loop Dreams challenges students to learn more about what’s behind hip-hop culture in order to help them develop skills, express themselves creatively and be empowered.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dr. West’s name to the Kanye West Foundation/Loop Dreams Teacher Training Institute. Those donations can be made by visiting the Foundation’s Web site, www.KanyeWestFoundation.org or by mail at Kanye West Foundation, 8560 W. Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069. ”
:flower:

Here is some info about the doctor who performed the surgery:

Plastic surgeon Dr. Jan Adams has told TMZ that he was the doctor who performed cosmetic surgery on Kanye West's mother Donda before she died.

Dr. Adams told TMZ her death, which followed a tummy tuck and breast reduction, was unforeseen and could have been caused by a heart attack, pulmonary embolism, or massive vomiting.

Dr. Adams tells us West consulted with him over a period of four months. He says she changed her mind numerous times, sometimes greenlighting the surgery and sometimes halting it.

As for the TMZ report that Beverly Hills doctor Andre Aboolian refused to conduct the surgery because of a medical condition that West had, Dr. Adams said of Dr. Aboolian, "He is sleazy and manipulating the truth to elevate his own importance."

Dr. Adams says he did nothing wrong.

My deepest condolences to Kanye and his family. Mothers are among the greatest and most underappreciated people on earth, though I'm glad Kanye was a rarity in that he remained so close to and so appreciative of his mother into his own adulthood. It's always sad to see a mother lost, and it is tragic to think of poor Kanye's sadness during this time. My best wishes to all who were affected, and my prayers for the departed.
