Lindsay's team must be worried about what will happen to her in the civil trial; once again, they are talking to the press to put a positive spin on things.

The legal woes and court appearances of Lindsay Lohan made worldwide headlines in 2010 and it appears 2011 may be no different for the Mean Girls star.
An April 2011 trial date has been set in a civil lawsuit filed against Lohan in connection with her infamous 2007 DUI arrest but the allegations made against the actress may not make that strong of a case.
At a status hearing in Beverly Hills court Thursday morning, Judge Richard Stone weighed in on the allegations made against Lohan.
In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, Lohan’s powerhouse civil attorney, Ed McPherson says the judge acknowledged that the boys' allegations were “weak.”

“For instance, they have a claim for ‘battery’ which is what most people would construe as one person punching another person. The judge acknowledged that Lindsay never even touched any of the boys, but that somebody, somewhere, might construe what she did as a "battery," McPherson says.
And although Lohan appeared for her deposition in May 2010, McPherson also tells RadarOnline.com that the actress still has to be deposed one final time before the trial begins in April 2011.

“She still needs to appear for two hours to answer questions about whether she has any "regrets" about what she did," McPherson says.
McPherson also tells RadarOnline.com that Lohan will attend the trial, scheduled to begin on April 25, 2011.

I think she's definitely dual-diagnosis -- tough to avoid, I think, with those parents & life circumstances. I thought there was some mention of a psych diagnosis after UCLA ( which is so amazingly unethical )?

Yeah yeah yeah.. Lindsay's 'career' is a joke, her lips look deformed, etc etc.. but regardless of the circus she's created around herself, I have no doubt that this whole ordeal hasn't been easy for her and at the end of the day it DOES make me happy to see her buying herself a diamond ring, and sitting at starbucks. I think the ring is probably a gift to herself to signify her sobriety and that's a great thing for her to be proud of. Maybe I am too compassionate, but she's a human being, and she's looking healthy and happy, and that's good to see.

Remember the only reason she is there was to get out of going to jail. She said she was fine and didn't need rehab. The same thing has happened time and time again. She breaks the law, gets the Get Out Of Jail Free card and goes to rehab for a while, claims to be a new person, then goes back to her old ways after a couple of months (or less) content that she is special and deserves special treatment. She even complained about being treated like a common criminal, and that was when she was in jail. When she was sentenced to jail the first thing her team tried to do was to strike deals with the media for her post-jail interview. You give her way too much credit.

Nothing that has happened this time suggests it is any different: we've seen the same tactics of denying responsibility for her crimes, constant self-absorbed focus on how to publicise herself in the crudest way, lame photo-ops, and bad work ethic.

Try telling people who did what Lindsay did and are in jail for over 6 months+ with no early release that "this whole ordeal" hasn't been easy on her. Of course she's happy right now - she got off once again. Judge Revel had it totally right.

Lindsay Lohan -- Back in the Driver's Seat

She's baaaaaaaack. Lindsay Lohan finally has permission to get back behind the wheel of a car ... TMZ has learned.

Sources tell TMZ the people at the Betty Ford clinic finally decided to hand over Lindsay's keys today -- exactly two weeks after her license was restored by the L.A. County Probation Department.

As we first reported, Betty Ford was reluctant to let Lindsay drive -- because they thought paparazzi would follow her ... creating a dangerous driving environment.

Our sources say Betty Ford was proud of the way Lindsay handled the delay with patience -- and following phone calls from both her parents ... the clinic decided it was time to hand over the keys.

But ... this doesn't mean LiLo can hit the mean streets whenever she wants -- we're told she can only drive when she gets a pass to leave the sober living facility.

Buckle up, world.

Just because she doesn't deal with her problems the right way, doesn't mean her way of dealing with it is easy for her at the end of the day. Yes it might seem like an easy way out for her, but nobody is that numb to feeling ostracized. Most people deal with these things in a manner that isn't necessarily going to make things easiest on them in the long run, because the human brain's first reflex is to protect the ego - that is amplified for a celebrity. She definitely still thinks to herself 'geez this sucks!' even after she's tried to take the easy way out. I'm not saying she doesn't deserve anything that comes her way as a consequence for her actions, all I'm saying is if I see her getting better and not making the same mistakes then I'm happy for her!
