Model Casting F/W 07.08

Thought this was an interesting tidbit:

Carolina Pantoliano, Caroline Demarquis, and Daiane Conterato (Triplets much?) were cast in the exact same four shows (And their only four up until today) in London this past week:

Rather amusing -- what's funnier is that Carolina is an exact cross between Caroline D. and Daiane...

 It's amazing how much they look alike...I like Demarquis least though.

The triplets are kind of boring. I'm not crazy about any of them but I really don't need to see all three of them in a show. I like Carolina so I say let's drop the other two. :innocent:

I'm not surprised they were in the exact same shows, though. Those were pretty much the biggest shows (from a model perspective anyway), so I'm guessing they were managed quite selectively (on order from Supreme perhaps?) and only went for those. That, or it was the same CD for all of them. Someone with a thing for triplets. :p

Olga Sherer is having a great season. And i'm so glad about it.
Johanna is doing pretty well, although I expected her too do more shows. But hey, she's only 15 or something like that.
Diana Moldovan is becoming a very big model out of nothing, she really is doing so many shows. And it's lovely.
I think Georgia Frost is a bit overrated though, if her hair wouldn't be this blond, she'd be doing half of the shows she;s been doing now.

^yeah Diana Moldovan,so glad she is doing well  we def. need more pretty faces like hers in the industry!!

I miss the older models like Elise, Gisele, Karolina, Erin, Hannelore, Stella, Adina, Mariacarla And Liya, as well as countless others, doing shows regularly. They just added so much life to the runway and clothes. These new models are boring (except for some like Irina and Agyness as they're interesting) as they don't really model. Watching the Dior SSHC 2007 video really displayed that. When waiting to go up on the platform, the newer models would like stand board-stiff while the models used to it would take the chance to show off the clothes. It's like they were afraid to model. I wish designers would start asking for a little more life. Give me a double turn anyday! ^_^

has anyone noticed hye park doing hardly any shows? du juan has been in quite a few though. and jeisa has been completely absent, though i can't say i'm surprised since she's been around so long. sasha has also retreated a little, no longer the it girl..?

maybe the designers finally realized how REDICULOUS her walk is:lol:

Actualy Sasha's walk has improved a great deal. I didn't really notice a change in the amount of shows she walked in.

Du and Sasha are still very much in the important shows :) Hye is a bit less prevalent...

Huh? She did 22 shows in NY, including Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler, PHI, Oscar de la Renta among others. So, she is still doing very well.

Anyway, whatever happened to Anna J? I don't ever see her anymore.

i agree, but i think it takes time too. i really doubt any of those great older girls did that when they were just starting too. however, there used to be more of a balence. you would have the newer girls that were stiffer and not great walkers, but there was also girls who comanded the runway. right now it just seems like there are new girls

i think it will change in milan and paris though. i mean, i like a lot of the new girls, but most of them are indistiguishable from one another. like those three that are posted above. i can tell daiane apart, but those other two. and there are so many girls like that. little young looking brunettes with big eyes. its not the same look as the baby dolls from a few years ago though

Well she faded away last season already...or even the season before that...so I'm not surprised
