Models Who Were One-Hit Wonders

Nyasha confirmed on Twitter that she has taken a break from modeling to study, shes only 18 years old. When she comes back she's going to be even bigger than before. She was ranked on models.com until bland and unattractive Australian teenager Julia Nobis took her spot. I wouldn't count nyasha as a one hit wonder quite yet

Can I say Kate King here? I know she got some campaign previous seasons but I barely seen her in editorial or major cover lately.

^I like her a lot, but sadly, I have to agree. She has never got something really huge though but it's definitely true that she used to be more in the spotlight. I was quite positive to see her opening Dolce & Gabbana but oh well, what does a Dolce & Gabbana campaign mean by now? She got the S/S 2013 campaign but that's it. She was not even in Paris for the rest of the shows. I don't know, I really hope she'll resurface someday.

^^ yeah I like her a lot actually, she got Chloe SS 12 campaign but after the SS 12 season, I barely seen her everywhere. Same as Anais Pouliot. I rarely seen her anywhere lately.

I would never call Arizona Muse or Kate King One-Hit Wonders. For me, a one-hit wonder is a model that suddenly appears from nowhere, gets a huge campaign, a major cover or any other work that's really privileged, and after that only begins to get some work from time to time, or simply disappears entirely... that's what a one-hit wonder means; they only made one big hit in this industry, and then their next hits are not as major (or constant) as everybody expected.

She's not exactly my cup of tea, but I do admit Arizona is actually the opposite of a one hit wonder, 'cause she used to have an underground model background, and suddenly she starts getting all this buzz around 2010, then she scores a VI cover followed by a YSL camp, and after that BOOM!... she started to get multiple Vogue covers and campaigns, and now a major beauty contract, so she did make many other wonder hits after her big breaout season. Maybe Kate's story is not as successful as Arizona's, but she does have a respectful career that sets her as a stablished model in this industry.

I don't think Anais Pouliot is a one-hit wonder either. Her career seems pretty consistent. She gets a couple of campaigns each season, none of them at the caliber of Louis Vuitton but still decent (Aldo, Carven, YSL Beauty, Sonia Rykiel, Emporio Armani, etc). She's also gotten lots of other print work for the past year and a half, only slowing down a few months ago.

Fatima Siad's in the Wildfox campaign. Fingers crossed this gets her more work and she's not a one-hit wonder!

^ yes, i have to agree with you because she never was a wonder so she can't be a one-hit-wonder as well ;) she only did 2 great shows (Dries van Noten, Hermes), all other shows she did are B-list shows and Herve Leger campaign is not a blue-chip campaign

I also wouldn't count Nyasha on here, because she put school and studying before modelling (good move on her part), I feel like she could easily make a comeback when shes done with school

i'm not sure at all, unfortunately ethnic girls disappear very fast from the scene and i would say very replaceable which is shame..you have many examples of some great black models which disappeared almost at their 2nd or 3rd season..it seems we have every single season at least a one ethnic girl which is in ˝top ten new faces˝ and i would say a wonder but next season she evident slows down and doing only B-list shows..so i don't think nyasha will be an exception

I was wondering... how about Milly Simmonds or Colinne Michaelis? They both used to walk for some major designers during FW, and now...? Maybe they took a break or something?

Although they just recently started dying out I would add katryn kruger, daga ziober, frida aasan, and anastacia kusnetsova to this list. Hopefully they all make comebacks, besides daga:yuk:

Definitely not a one hit wonder. I'd say she's one of those who just needs to switch agencies.

She has more of a commercial look but can do high fashion. Although, I see that her strengths in beauty and lingerie are coming forwards. It seems like those are her strongest markets as she books multiple beauty and lingerie campaigns+catalogs every season.

I'm still praying for Nyasha, I don't think any sane human being would be able to get that image of her at Versace Spring 2012 out of their heads.

I've exactly thinking about Franzi Muller... Although she had a pretty good first fashion week, she seems to be a little bit faded away, she hasn't booked much shows as you'd have thought.

Elza is in the same boat as Katryn, I think... they just aren't with the right agency. you can kind of compare between Elza and Nadja Bender... they started out at the same time, and look where Nadja ended up (huge success) and where Elza ended up... :(
