Who Will Sweep Up at the S/S 2011 shows?

Also, what do you think about Lindsey Wixson being sexy? I really can't see it. Anais Pouliot and Lindsey are so not my type of models.

Oh, Anais! I love her and I love Lindsey too. But defining them as sexy would be absolutely wrong.

I think and hope that Karlie BETTER do all the shows, I think Jac & Frida will remain at the top as well. I think Hailey clauson (love her!) will do well as well, as well as i hope Ylonka whom i think has a face of gold. I also root for Barbara (go shorties!) and Natasha because she can do no wrong. What i really want is to see girls that are to stay, stable ones. Not ones that dissapear next season..

oh and liu wen :D i love feifei's look too...but she looks slightly sickly..but i also love her look

I think these girls from F/W 10.11 will continue to do well:
Daphne Groeneveld
Caroline Brasch Nielsen
Barbara Palvin
Kirsi Pyrhonen
Ann Kenny
Kirby Kenny
Ming Xi
Emily Wake
Julia Nobis

The new girls I'm interested to see in NYC:
IMG - Theres Alexandersson, Bryn
Elite - Bambi Northwood-Blyth
Ford - Andie Arthur, Mayara Rubik-Marchi, Simone Carvalho, Sima, Anais Mali, Yana Sotnikova
NYMM - Charlotte Bos, Reny
Women - Christina Romanova, Annabelle Tsaboukas
Next - Mariana Santana
DNA - Hanne Bruning, Milou Sluis, Luisa Bianchin, Olga Boiko, Jessica Clarke, Codie Young
Silent - Marianne, Marya Timonina, Victoire
Marilyn - Pauline Van Der Creuysse, Josephine Skriver, Maree Borisenko
Supreme - Ilva Heitmann

And I'd like to see Josefien Rodermans and Vanusa Savaris somewhere along the way. But ideally, I'm all for surprises (as long as they're good).

Au revoir:
Anais Pouliot
Sam Gradoville
Tetyana Melnychuk
Simona Andrejic
Melissa Tammerijn

Codie's first season will be Fall / Winter 2010, so it would come as no surprise if she doesn't walk any shows come fashion week.
Yeh, apparenlty not being launched until next season, but you never know if an exclusive comes along; would be great timing (Vogue cover) and a nice transition into F/W 11.12 as she'll be completely finished with high school by mid-november.

Codie will definitely not show up and i don't think it would be clever timing to get her a exclusive now, too much expose for a girl still being more or less full time in school. and as her motheragent summer of Bravo Models said somwhere, neither her nor DNA are in the mood to cancel a class print options due to school like they had to do for Carla G this season. Codie just arrived in Tokyo, one month intown via Bravo. Just development....

I like your Au revior list and think that Vanessa H, Ilvie W, the Brazilian girl @ One who was at MJ/Miu Miu & Carla G feel quite right there.

Oh, Debora M? I would have put her on the list too if I hadn't already completely forgotten her.

I didn't know Codie was going to be in Tokyo for one month (how she can manage a whole month away from school/studying, I don't know). An exclusive would be a week or even less if lucky. Anyway, my point was that she would be finished with exams by November i.e graduated in 2 months. But I guess it does depend on how soon campaign castings begin. Anyway it's now moot; she can't be in two places at once.

I don't think Samantha is going anywhere just yet.. she just started out in the international circuit and she hasn't even really had her debut in NYFW...

She is coming off good editorial traction, I think worst case scenario she will have a decent show season this season then disappear next season, but I hope she stays for longer...

What happened to Carla Gebhart anyway.. I was under the impression she sort of "Au revior'd" herself in favor of school.

a la Rasa Z or Katlin Aas? :innocent:?

Carla is really into studying at the moment.

What do you think about Lauren Brown & Danni Li? They're kind of my out there choices this season.

Really? I think they'll still do well! they seem to have just started. Especially for Simona.

Oh, I'm sure they'll still be booking shows (more than most new girls in fact), I just don't see them doing as well as their last season. There's always a couple of standouts from the previous season who have a lesser season next (e.g from S/S 10 - Rasa, Alisa Matviychuk, Vanessa H).

As far as Samantha - she's a lovely girl, but I wonder how much longevity she'll have. I personally wasn't that impressed by her campaign and editorials. and obviously this is all subjective :flower:

^ Totally agree with you about Sam Gradoville... Really not seeing her as the big showstar. Regarding Vanessa H. - I was pretty stunned during the previous season already to see her doing so well :ninja: so...I'm really not that sure if she can continue this success.
Another girl who I don't see "on top" any longer (if you can actually call it like that...well, she has done a couple of major shows anyway) like last season, is Melissa Tammerijn.

BUT:

Ilvie Wittek?! :judge: cologne_rocks, how dare you to count her out already? :p (well, at least I'm hoping for her to continue and extend her success from the previous season)

I don't know about Melissa Tammerijn. She didn't really make any editorial impact (to my knowledge) after FW10 but she is very striking on the runway so I think she could still stick around.

I think Samantha has more runway appeal than recent Prada Openers/Closers so I think there's a high chance she could do well.

@ nijuyanah
I deeply support your statement about Vanessa Hegelmaier. She did such remarkable printworks last month.
I am not able to relate the negative opinion from cologne rocks regarding her future work this season :judge:

Catwalk Watch: Natalie Joos

Before a model hits the runway—and before she snags her first editorial, her first ad campaign, and her first billboard—she’s got to make it past the sharp eyes of fashion’s casting directors, who are tasked with finding the perfect girls for designers’ exacting visions. In our new fashion week series, the industry’s top casting gurus share their thoughts on who we’ll be seeing this fashion week—and beyond.

Belgian-born Natalie Joos casts Lacoste, Cynthia Steffe, Pamela Love, and Karen Walker, among others, in New York this season. Below, she weighs in on a few of her favorite new faces.

Kirsi Pyrhonen (left) started last season in London and went on to do a few good shows in Paris. She is 16 and is from Finland. She’s never been to New York, so this will be her first season here. She is very striking and unique-looking.

Caroline Brasch Nielsen (center) started last season in Paris. This will be her first season in New York, too. She is 17 years old, from Copenhagen. She has all the elements to make it in everyone’s top list: the right proportions, a great walk, and poise.

Anais Pouliot (right) from Trump has been on people’s radars for some time. She is French and 19 years old. She’s not a part of the elite group yet but I think she’ll do well this season. She is cute and girly, but in an unusual way. I love her pout!

Andrew Weir's picks

Model castings can be a black hole in the minds of the fashion press, since most occur very privately, behind closed doors. Luckily enough for us, however, casting director Andrew Weir of ACW Worldwide invited us to observe a massive casting for the Spring 2011 season. Hopping at the chance to see models in their natural habitat, I made sure not to miss this event. Hundreds of girls lined the hallways of the Hudson Hotel, books and heels in hand. Inside the gorgeous Husdon Library, girls were photographed, walked, “scored,” and entered into ACW’s database in a flurry of business and buzz. To the untrained eye it was tough to distinguish which models were the best and which were the worst, until they walked. The best girls had strides long and fast, their hair flying in a self-generated breeze, among them Fashionista faves Ashley Smith, Ann Kenny, and Kirby Kenny.
Andrew Weir found six gems at his casting, sure to be the big stars of Spring 2011. It’s all about that je ne sais quoi for Mr. Weir, as well as finding “strong, beautiful, healthy, magnificent women.”

I'm sorry but I found that quote very funny after seeing the first two pictures. I find most of these models unappealing to me. I fear that this is the season of the bland dull blond models.
