Prada Mens F/W 13.14 Milan

it looks retro...very casual and wearable...some pieces are simply great

Sorry guys, but never ending dullness. The cat on the screen was more interesting and the trousers went from short to shorter.

And the only thing I really like about this show is the set. Very 60's/70's.

2 words for this 'Wes Anderson' (clothes, styling, set, some of the music).
Makes much more sense now that he was here 3 months ago shooting a short film for Prada.
i loved it. every single piece, the styling, everything.

Now that I think about it, the color palette of this collection looks like it was sourced from screen stills of his films. And the way the models moved through the set reminded me of those long unbroken scenes in his films.

Chic and simple. Hopefully this will be an indication for womenswear.

fantastic colours! i am a fan :D waaay better than last season and more wearable

even the styling is very richie tenenbaum meets jason schwartzman + mr fox + wes himself, down to the hair! maybe that's why i instantly loved this.
the checkered suit and the coats (all of them, really) are my favourite pieces here.

Everything looked great, the venue was very well acomplished and ver well put together!
Love the collection, nothing tacky or bad, everything very clean and graphic with a twist in the shirts, I LOVE IT!
The multicolored leather jackets plus the long coats with that red pop on the collar were perfect! LOVE IT! Go Miuccia!

At Prada, Check Out the Bourgeoisie

MILAN — The ideal house — as envisaged by Rem Koolhaas and his AMO research team — was the background to Miuccia Prada’s show Sunday.

Men in boldly checked shirts faced off with low-slung boxy furniture, a child’s toy horse on the floor and an iron on a wide, flat table, while digital views through the windows encompassed high rises, with passing clouds and flocks of birds or a p*ssy cat waving its tail.

But was this men’s wear show an ideal wardrobe? Pretty much, if you are a Prada fanatic and want a square-cut jacket, a square-patterned suit or straight pants.

Ms. Prada, wearing a checked shirt and calling it “my obsession,” said the starting point of the set was a still life of the bourgeoisie — a subject of constant fascination for the designer.

“I want to talk about what is real fashion: the perfect shirt, the perfect color,” she said.

On this unconventional runway the “banal is beautiful” idea so alluring to the designer had its high moments: Perfectly tailored camel coats or brief leather jackets worn by mop-haired guys of different ages. The colors were seductive in their tones of turquoise, red and butter yellow. The sturdy shoes balanced on rubber treads will be instant objects of desire. And the fetishism of the checked shirt, perhaps with a ripple of double frills down its front?

“You never know why you like something,” Ms. Prada said.

Brilliant collection. It felt like some sort of continuation of Fall 2010, that same late 60's feeling, but this time it was much more reduced and minimal. What I loved the most about the collection is that Miuccia focused on lifestyle rather than an specific theme, it was about building a men's wardrobe in its basic steps. It was about simple and essential pieces but with amazing cut, fabrics and color pallet. Also loved the youthful feeling of it, especially how she constructed and styled the shirts like the guy was rushing to get dressed up.

I fear that this beautiful collection may have been inspired by those little runts from One Direction.

The jackets and coats were gorgeous!!!!! The Pant, not soo much. I'm not a fan of that trouser, they all looked like penguins.
