Prada F/W 10.11 Milan

If busts were the focal point in the dresses, then collars must be the focal point in the coats.

About the decision of casting VS girls for the show, it all makes sense now. Who better than VS women to wear garments that are made to be worn by women, even if they're not the most curvacious women. These clothes were made to exalt women's figure.

That makes me think that's why there are some 60s references here. There is some kind of twisted feminism in these garments.

I love how she plays with the perception of sexy, using VS models and covering them up. It really reminds me of her previous collections. It is such a "Prada" look.

I like the shiny coats/jackets and the Prada wallpaper prints, but it's not one of her best collections. Silly Tim Blanks and the video on style.com had people raving about how revolutionary this is, but if it didn't have the Prada name, people wouldn't carry on so much.
You know, for six years I've been a member here and to this day I still don't understand why people say this about certain collections.

It's insulting quite frankly, and kind of juvenile too. Why can't you just accept that you simply don't see what others are seeing and leave it at that? Why crap all over everyone's opinion?

i really like this more than i thought i would. the prints aren't my favorite, but they are pretty classic miuccia which i appreciate. i like all the references to the breasts, especially the structural nipples on the first piece. its very subversive but subtle enough.

I only recently started to examine Prada closely in the past few seasons and I was still naive about fashion to examine her work in the nineties where i read this was heavily influenced by. However, not knowing her complete span of work, the collection definitely carries the Prada DNA but doesn't really excite me this season. I can appreciate the silhouettes and the prints but not much else.

I wasn't trying to crap on other's opinions of the collection. I actually appreciate some the pieces in the collection and some of my favorite collections ever have been Prada, early 2000s. When I said people carry on because it's Prada, I meant the bs people were saying on the style.com video.

This collection just blew me away. I died when I saw the video. The sort of "subtle sexuality" is endearing. It may seem to some that Miuccia is getting some sort of "preferential treatment" based on her "can do no wrong" reputation, but people don't understand her aesthetic as a woman and a designer. The collection was innovative, sexy, modern, and universally women friendly. Bravo!:heart::heart:

I loved this collection so much I could scream!!:heart::heart:

For me it's the reference point of FW 10-11 so far.

The cardigans are OK and some of the colours are quite nice - maroon, grey with mustard - but I've never been a fan of this type of '60s librarian/spinster look.

Thank you! Also, I think Cathy Horyn once said that when she critiques the collections she holds each designer to a different standard... thus it would be meaningless to imagine what everyone would said "if this was not Prada" because it IS Prada. Get over it. There are certainly real criticisms to propose about this/any collection but "omg ppl wouldn't be raving if it wasn't ____" is never one of them.

That being said, I love this collection but am not sold on the brush stroke checkered prints.

After looking through the whole collection at Style.com, I instantly fell in love with it! The collection was great IMO. Though it reminded me F/W 05 and S/S 08 collection 'cause of the silhouettes of some pieces. But nevertheless, it was a collection that proved Miuccia once again as a designer who always have to be watched out for because of her innovative and intriguing ideas in making clothes. This collections proves it. :)

I just love the coats and the cocktail dresses with ruffles on the breast part. It's very womanly and not to mention, so wearable. (The sort of indigo coat that Jac wore is one of the pieces that I love from the collection). And the print adds a taste, IMO, to the style of the clothes. I was kind of irritated at first about the knee-high knitted socks as I was wondering "What the hell?!?" but it was later that I realized that they, somehow, compliment to the collection. And those shoes? Ugh, I'd love to have a pair. :D

And I agree, this collection speaks about the retro style of the 60s. Miuccia has managed to deliver, yet again, a wonderful collection that will surely be used widely on the F/W issues of some fashion titles around the world. :) Kudos to the Prada team and the designer herself!

I liked a few pieces but especially loved the contrast cable knit tights! Images from stylesight.com

this is the worst i've seen from them..
what they offered in the menswear for women was enough for me

that said, i can imagine some people looking good in a few of these dresses which is a hit in the end. the fit looks great. it's a very, homely and friendly collection.

Love the idea/concept, hate the projection. It looked so weird at some points. Love seeing Lara though

I'm a big fan for Prada

I just love some looks,
I get the message of this collection but it not my type!
the proposion and the shape a bit to odd for me!

i like the embellished black dress but thats about it
