Prada F/W 12.13 Milan

There are a FEW good things about the collection but please no NOT that hair trend!!

This is such a new Miuccia, I've never envisioned her to be the "prints and embellishment" type, but it totally works for her. It's often rare for me to love a Prada collection the first time i see it, but I always end up loving it. (So the case with Spring/Fall 2010)

So refreshing to see the 60´´s there. Love it.
And the shoes and bags are so well and detailed done. It´s a more than a must have.

Some really outstanding looks this time around, I can totally see the dresses on women in general and the suits too. I guess there's a lot to wear in this collection, much clothes and looks to wear. The only problem I have is the shoes, that doesn't really do anything for me. maybe because we seen them already in previous collections...

It's weird, this collection has everything I like (embellishments, layering, great coats, printed suits) but I'm just not feeling anything from it :( Maybe it needs to hit me later, but usually a Prada collection makes me fall in love with it the moment I see it.
If one thing does bother me, it's those dip-dyed shoes and the embellshments can get a little clunky.

the only thing in common with miu miu f/w 10 i see is the embellishments and the eye make-up (maybe those two go well together: en extreme eye make-up may be the embellishment for the face... cuz eyes are the most important beautiful part of the face).
the rest is really not what i've seen from prada in some time: long clothing (yes goes well with long hair).
yes i do dig those orange pieces the most. and the bags of course.. those, to me, are the best thing about the collection. the shoes are hot too!!!

I don't find Miuccia's creativity outstanding in the general context of design but what never ceases to amaze me when watching her shows is her ability to be continually critical through her work (and through her position as the designer of a luxury brand) of social aesthetics, perhaps not so much in what is beautiful but certainly in the fickleness of what we conceive to be ugliness (usually a reaction that resides in a structure/silhouette), and I don't think her perception of it differs that much from ours, which is what makes that specific approach to design appealing for her. Maybe just an old trick but often fascinating, at least for me.

The music for the show was beautiful (Fennesz meets Murcof, what is it!?).. it creates an entire atmosphere that it's hard to tell by just looking at the pictures.. which emit eccentricity but once you hear the show and see the carpet, makeup/hair, and of course the clothes, it seems like a memory of a 70s event gone tragic.

One thing I do detest though, is her obsession with appliqué.. I hate that she brings it back every 2 or 3 seasons. And again, she probably hates it too, which might explain why she revisits it so often, but, if it hasn't worked after 20 collections, it's probably never going to work. LET IT GO!

I don' tknow why I don't like this print on clothes. I love the shoes though!

Say what you will about Miuccia (and I'm not really a fan), but what she usually manages to do is create something original. This however felt like a reductive take on Miu Miu's F/W 2010 collection (which I hated). The silhouettes are so rigid and seem like a baffling choice of structure for fall/winter clothes. Not to mention that some of the prints remind me of the awful, half-arsed produced clothes that we see at resort.... I will say that the accessories were intriguing enough and I'm sure that this collection will at least attempt to grow on me somehow, but overall it was a big disappointment.

What I love about this collection is the intelligence of it. The colorful geometric prints and the decorations on the surface add a youthfulness, a freedom to some otherwise boring clothes and to the woman that wears them. It's also very Italian mixed with late 60's and early 70's pop art and interior design. I loved the color palette. My only complaint would be the one and only shoe configuration and the overdose of black. And how amazing were the bags? The bags with the compartment on the bottom and the strapped clutches were my favorites.

Such a strange collection. I can't spot a single piece that will look good on a woman. And the pieces aren't even that conceptual, they're rather ordinary but they're just very...weird.

I wish I could see something worthwhile in all of this. sadly, I cannot. :innocent:

I get a strong Miu Miu Fall 2010 vibe .. honestly, if I only saw certain pieces I'd think this was a Miu Miu Collection ...

i'm so conflicted

i love the embellishments, the high heels, the bags, some of the shapes are really interesting....

but those pants... my mother wears. my mother in her sixties. and she is not fashionable/stylish in the slightest. dreadful. floodpants. ugh, Miuccia....

Not personally crazy about this, but hopefully those rubbery bits on the shoes will prevent accidents

What's with those belts that are hiked right up under the boobs? Is this geek chic or something? Belts-cum-bras? Modified empire waists? I'm just not sure what's up with that?:lol: I do like some of the black pieces, but the prints feel like a rerun of Prada-(or Miu Mui)-days-gone-by. I think this is better than those awful car shoes and sweet 50s styles from the spring collection, but it's not thrilling like Prada collections have been in the past.

I know this has been said multiple times, but this collection feels like the past few Miu Miu collections combined together in terms of prints, embellishments, and silhouettes. The collection itself is nothing overtly creative, but I do enjoy it a lot.

Also really love the hair as it continued the elongated silhouette. The shoes are awesome, but they remind me of the boots from Fendi with the rubber toe.

The prints and the bags are gorgeous, but that's about it.
