Predict Style.com's Top Ten New Faces for F/W 08.09

yaars, has Kasia Zych done any shows? I am not familiar with her...

Yes, something about 2, but it's not her time yet. It will come though ^_^

I'm 99% sure Eniko will appear on the list. She has the face and huge number of shows she took a part in + other lists love her [elle for example]

Well, New York Fashion Week is over so I suppose it's time for me to rehash my original predictions and start to rethink where certain girls rank and how successful they've been.

The Hot List :woot::
Abbey Lee Kershaw - Simply everywhere!
Kamila Filipcikova - Meisel/Marsh darling and Vogue Italia cover girl.
Diana Farkhullina - CK Exclusive.
Heloise Guerin - Fairly strong showing, best may be yet to come.
Malin Ones - Walking CK helped her stock in a big way.
Anna Gushina - Opened Proenza, walks CK, MxMJ, and Marc Jacobs.
Aline Weber - Walked CK, opened Johnathan Saunders.
Natalia Schueroff - Quite buzzworthy, walked CK, Philosophy, and MxMJ.
Alice Burdeu - Proenza, Rad Hourani, Marc Jacobs.
Kate Somers - Certainly has the potential to keep succeeding.

The Watch List B):
Gantz Gilles, Iris Strubegger, Vika Kuropyatnikova, Adina Forizs, Karmen Pedaru, Natasha Belebrevik, Lovisa Ingman

The Dark Horse List :ninja::
Alana Kuznetsova, Austria Ullowa, Lyoka Tyagnereva, Skye Stacke, Georgina Stojilkovic, Daria Strokous, Lizelot Rippen

I suppose that's really just how I'm perceiving things at the moment, but I think we all know that Milan will really make or break some, as well as introduce us to quite a few new faces I'm sure. Still, London comes first, and I'll be keeping a watchful eye on the Christopher Kane show, which usually has incredibly casting.

Abbey Lee FOR SURE!!..and i think Jourdan might have a chance..if she does well in Malin and paris

^Jourdan has had a superb season in NYC, but her success has never carried over into Milan or Paris, but we shall see. Regardless of how well she does, I just cannot see them adding her to the list as this is her third season now.

I'm going to have to add Malin Ones & Anna Gushina to my list. (I still stand by my other three models).

Also, quite naturally there will be some hype with Diana F. Have to see whether she had a city exclusive or a Toni exclusive...(Does anyone know?)

I'm crossing my fingers for Paul. Hopefully she'll be on the runway more in Europe. I don't think NY is really the place for her.

Let me compile a list as well...I usually don't after NYC because it's almost always pointless, but this time I have a feeling that it would be enormously weird if some of the NY successes wouldn't extend to Europe. So here are who are on my hotlist... In no particular order:

Abbey Lee Kershaw: Dirrrrty or not, your type or not, you can not deny her enormous success. A pre-hyped girl is always dangerous, but tell that to Marc, Oscar, Ralph or the entire New York fashion scene and I guarentee you that they won't listen. Can you say omnipresent?
Kamila Filipcikova: Her showlist might not be superhuge, but it's stille quite impressive. She knew how to get into the Max Azria casts and Anna Sui as one of the few new girls among the top of the notchers. Marc Jacobs is also appreciative and so is Steven Meisel...such timing to land a Vogue Italia cover.
Jourdan Dunn: Has indeed been around for several seasons, but she was hardly ever as succesful as she was this time. Whereas she only did Marc Jacobs as one of the big ones previously, this time around that coveted sho was just one of many. Oscar dela Renta, Michael Kors, Vera Wang, Proenza Schouler, Carolina Herrera...should I continue?
Georgina Stojilkovic: Perhaps not the most impressive season, but oh my sweet lord is this girl amazing! DKNY, Vera Wang, Max Azria, BCBG, you name it. To add to that, with a face and walk like that, you just know Europe should be melting over her already. Bring on the avalanche!
Margaryta Senchylo: I have a feeling she is gonna sneak up from behind and yell SURPRISE as she will concur Europe. Watch her, with all those campaigns, editorials and covers already under her belt. You cannot ignore her.
Adina Forizs: Flew under style.com's radar last season, but her Prada/MiuMiu exclusive certainly converted into a succesfull New York season. Pretty much everyone had to have her.
Malin Ones: Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler, all the castings that mattered. Plus many, many more...
Lovisa Ingman: She did lots of biggies (MxMJ, Zac Posen, Donna Karan) and we already know that a certain casting director with the magic hands loves her, so at this time she's a sure lock for me.
Anna Gushina: To open Proenza Schouler is one thing, but to then also stomp your way through the hyped runways of both the Marc shows and Calvin Klein is another. Put her on the Trans-Atlantic asap!
Alana Kuznetsova: Last seasons Marsh adoration continued into the Jonather Saunders show. The overall adoration founds its way onto the catwalks of Proenza Schouler, Vera Wang, Zac Posen and not to forget, the Givenchy couture runway last month.

Watchlist:
Diana Farkhulina, Skye Stracke, Iris Struberger, Claudia Seiler, Katrriina Okane, Heloise Guerin, Kate Somers, Pei Bei (!), Gantz Gilles, Daria Strokous and many more.

I would hardly call Jourdan Dunn a fresh face...she has been around for about 3 seasons. This is her breakout season, but not her debut

^I'm not denying that...but Olga Sherer wasn't new as well when she landed the spot on the style.com top 10...that was also her breakout season, so...

^Actually, Olga was never on the list. The F/W 07.08 season where she finally came into her own, all Olga got was a mention in the blurb before the actual list. I think we were all a little shocked by her absence at the time, but looking back over career she had certainly been around for a few season. :flower:

I love this kind of speculation. I think Abby Lee, Kamilla F, Diana F will def. be in the list. Girls like Sky, Malin, Adina F and Aline W also have a good chance and maybe Jordan Dunn.

Our fourth Top 10 Newcomer from Models.com...so far Wayne's choice have been pretty spot on (though Alice is really going to have to prove herself overseas, as much as I love her).

Malin Ones:
She came, she saw, she killed it! From Proenza to Micheal Kors to Calvin Klein, all those very tough , very selective clients who only contract the best new girls possible, had to have Marilyn’s Malin. She’s now up for the Milan booking sweepstakes and one can only imagine how frenzied the bidding is about to be! Stay tuned.
(MDC)

The angles of her face just scream Jil Sander girl to me, but we'll have to wait and see. Malin is certainly shaping up to be a big contender.

As of NYC ending my 10 are...

Abbey Lee Kershaw
Alice Burdeu
Aline Weber
Anna Gushina
Diana Farkhullina
Gantz Gilles
Kamila Filipcikova
Malin Ones
Natalia Schueroff
Vika Kuropyatnikova

But Europe will shift this around a lot I imagine :magic: My fingers are crossed for Daria S.!

^^ Though I can definetly see her at Jil Sander, I feel she's more of a Gucci girl to me, much like the same type of category Masha Novoselova falls in (last seasons Gucci exclusive)...but admittedly, she does fit Jil Sander more than Masha does :p

Oh, we're up to five now huh?

Gantz Gilles Zhavoronkova:
Like graceful gazelle, One Mgmt’s Gantz flitted down some of NY’s best runways including those of Anna Sui and Marc Jacobs to position herself as a must-book in Milan this month. Her advance appearances on OTM signaled that all the directional forces were scanning her in earnest, but look for that signal to go really big once Gantz touches down in Milan later this week.
(MDC)

Good job for Gantz, though I'm starting to wonder whether or not anyone will remember that she was once a Prada exclusive back in...F/W 06.07 was it?

^Yes...it's very odd that noone at MDC or whatever has ever made mention of it. Do you think they know or

^Given that 1Mgmt is trying to relaunch her as Gantz, I think it could be a very conscious decision to not mention that she already worked before. I'd consider it similar to the marketing tactic of not mentioning that Alice Burdeu won AusNTM.

^^ Haha yes but that is slightly different perhaps...I mean the Prada AusNTM ration in fashion credibility is like 10 to -10000....

However, she was named Gilles back then...is One using that as a last name or is that just us? ( :p )

It's not just us  Many of the show press releases name her as Gantz G. as well

I'll predict Alana Kuznetsova (her NYFW was good but europe should be even better given her prada/miumiu exclusive last season and her couture debut at givenchy)

Pei Bei (has closed a couple of shows so far including DVF. Should do well in Paris I think. And if style.com are looking for a non-european face she's the obvious choice, especially since her only girl vogue china cover)

Adina Forizs is just too cool to omit! Similar arrival to Alana Kuznetsova but did better in NY if I'm not mistaken.
