SITTING PRETTY Famed photographer Arthur Elgort, who also shoots for big Vogue, loved our cover girl and often referred to her as Gigi, the French social butterfly originally portrayed by Leslie Caron.
LEAN BACK Rachel laid out in a MaxMara sequined dress cinched with a belt by Peter Som.
PEACE AND LOVE Rachel rocked out in a metallic dress by Jill Stuart.
GOLDEN TICKET Walking the plank never looked so good!

CAPTIVE AUDIENCE Arthur caught a shot of Rachel as Teen Vogue creative director Lina Kutsovskaya and hairstylist Teddy Charles looked on.
HAIR APPARENT Throughout the shoot, stylist Teddy Charles of Orlo Salon in New York City made sure that Rachel looked her best at all times.
FIRST CHAIR Rachel relaxed in a Luella striped top while photographer Arthur Elgort and his assistant set up shop

Shooting Stars: How We Got That Picture.
WHO: The O.C.'s girl-next-door and starlet of this month's remake of the Italian flick The Last Kiss.
WHERE: The Hamptons, Long Island.
SUMMER TIME: Though Rachel will be working overtime as The O.C.'s leading lady when the series returns this fall, she seemed totally unstressed at her Hamptons, Long Island, cover session. (Photographer Arthur Elgort told the actress she reminded him of Gigi, the carefree Parisienne It girl in the classic 1958 film.)
CITY GIRL: Following the shoot, the L.A. native planned to head to Manhattan to spend a weekend strolling the city streets (and, of course, hitting her favorite vintage shops). "I love being in New York," she says. "It makes me feel really independent and good about myself!"
BOOK REPORT: Rachel says she spent her summer vacation catching up on her reading: "I just finished Looking for Alaska, this novel that [O.C. creator] Josh Schwartz is actually writing a screenplay of," she explains. "It's a really heartfelt story."
