US Vogue May 2016 : Taylor Swift by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

Guys, I'm not talking about a solo cover. Of course I understand it's not even possible. But if they'll do smth similar (like in Sep 2014), they'll definitely should include Anna and not random choices like Imaan. Yeah she's a star right now, but she were nowhere in 2014. Today it could happen with Grace Hartzel for example.

What's the point of the thick, glossy paper on the content pages and the page before Taylor's feature?

And again, the letters page is so embarrassing... It's like they chose the dumbest, most Buzzfeed-y tweets they could find

So what are people's thoughts on the new size? I know it's not much of a change but US Vogue never changes! Just look at how much cristicism the new contents page has gotten. I think the last major change was the FLash section?

Overall, I don't think they did anything with the new size. I know the same criticism is leveled at Bazaar but I do find Bazaars front of book looks a lot cleaner and elegant with the larger size and they at least did a redesign when they went bigger, Vogue just expanded the pages and left everything as is. It almost looks like the magazine "shrunk" within the new pages and as someone said the thicker paper for the contents page and the first page of the editorial well is pretty pointless.

Also, if they are gonna make the magazine wider they really out to produce more two page spreads in the editorials to take advantage of the more panoramic width. That would really make the edits pop out and that goes for Bazaar and Elle now that all three are back to being the same size.

Yes I wondered the same thing about the new size. Both Elle & Bazaar were originally this size pre-1991 & 1992 respectively, however Vogue has never been this size before.

Its a strange move, given we are greener than ever before, and Elle said their move to the smaller format in 1991 was motivated by the environment. Does anyone know what made the three magazines to move to this new size? Did Vogue move to make it easier for advertising copy?
