US Vogue September 2013 : Jennifer Lawrence by Mario Testino

One more thing I noticed - pages 473 to 503 don't exist. There is the beginning of an article on page 472; turn the page and you're on page 504. It's not just my issue, is it?

^Maybe these are the Neiman Marcus or Saks ads that are not in every copy (I have yet to figure out how these work).

I have been reading Vogue for about 30 years, and I have to say that this particular September issue disappointed me in several ways. I'm sure others have noticed and commented about this, but was Edie Campbell the only model available for most of the editorials??? I've got a major case of Edie overdose at the moment! And, though I like Jennifer Lawrence, did they have to put a headshot of her on cover?? Isn't this issue all about fall fashions?? Lastly, could Anna Wintour do the world a favor and retire??? While I admire and respect her, I find her current creative visions to be more and more bland and predictable - and definitely not innovative. Bring in some new blood, please!!

^ I pretty much agree with all of your points, its not the worst Sept issue i seen, but it just...lacks!

Was my intention to get this issue, think I'll be leaving this one to the side now, not even over 900 pages is enough to tempt me. Really enjoyed the last 2 US September issues so this is disappointing to me. The editorials have no wow factor.

These are some of the reasons I cancelled my subscription.

I've always thought there should be a name for the phenomenon where you look back at a magazine and think, "well, I didn't like it at the time - but it's so much better than what I'm seeing around me today".

It's not quite nostalgia, because it's only now that you're appreciating what you're seeing in the issue... it's more like "sudden awareness of the slow erosion of standards in the output of fashion magazines".

ahahaa there is a name for it : the BREAKTHROUGH :lol::lol:

I don’t know why people complained about Edie. Before the issue arrived at newstands Vogue made a post on social media asking readers which model they thought appeared the most in the magazine: Karlie, Edie or Joan.

Btw, the Daria editorial is one of the best I’ve ever seen in the pages of Vogue.
