I actually loved the makeup a lot, I love midnight blue eyeshadow. Its very sharp and gives an intimidating look. But it's the very severe hairstyle that was a bit too much.

F/W 06 had very similar makeup but extremely different hair.

In this fall 09 it's so confuse and too draqueen for me...

This is such a big let down, considering the last few seasons were very good.
I completely agree that there is no ideas behind the collection. It seems like she just randomly sketched out something she liked and made them into a collection.
And I really hate those looks with belts. Not that I hate the belts, but those looks all look extremely simple and boring. They don't stand out and scream Versace at all. They belong to the New York Fashion week.

I'm really disappointed. So much of this looks like the super simple, super commercial stuff that you find mixed into the racks with the runway stuff.

For me it's a flawless collection
after seeing the video I just see fiercely sexy of all those clothes
looking at the backstage girls I was thinking of those glamazons amazing confident women that Versace always praised

I see the resembles w fw 0607, but I dont care both are great by the way

I don't think that's true at all actually. That's just what so many store buyers seem to think is the right way to go, but from what I've read about the F/W 08 sales reports, the safe, basic, classic stuff is what the stores have had trouble getting rid of.

And it's not like I'm expecting Versace to do wildly experimental stuff, that's not what it's about. But generally there's more "design" in the clothes presented on the runway. Except for the evening gowns (which aren't even that spectacular imo) and some of the coats with the textured fabrics, there really isn't anything in here that I can imagine a woman swooning over. And for any women who are Versace customers, they likely already have those simple silk jersey draped dresses from seasons past.

the clothes (except the blue dresses at the end) are not so exciting, but the whole show is very well executed. that versace glamour and chic is there. priceless!

I can't say that I'm disappointed because this collection is exactly what I'm expecting from Donatella's work.
The first half is very good. I love the textures, the looks in black and even the simple dresses. I think that I liked them because of the way they are connected with the belts. I can't say the same about the second half... Actually not the second half, but the looks after that pink coat. Too colorful for my taste.
Milan was quite bad this season
