Vogue Italia February 2018 : Gisele Bündchen by Jamie Hawkesworth

I don’t like it, and I can’t tell that’s Gisele if without her name on the cover, it’s more like Gisele debuting new face.

I'm all for laid back edits but this is just funny to me. Even her editorial is.

It's a disappointing issue to me, Jamie Hawkesworth's ed lacks of intensity because he's not working with stylist in this shoot. I don't get why they put the ed without styling as a cover and main story. Tim Walker's ed is just typical work of him, and Lotta and Johnny Dufort work is looks like their work for latest Re-Edition which I really didn't like. I always feel Lotta is not a good stylist for image making. Also, Viviane Sassen and Patti Wilson? it just feels like a mismatch.

This isn't a very captivating cover to me, but looks cute and really intimate. The positive aspect is that they are trying to engage various photographers. Backstage video foreshadows a good edit. Hope to see it asap.

I have to agree, I love the covers, but yes, the contents are very bland. The cover story didn't have the images I hoped for...

I'd love to see the editorial to really decide what I think. so far the styling (or lack of it) really bothers me

Thanks so much for the review, Plax! Sassen is experiencing some rejuvenation so hers is the only edit I'm looking forward to. And I happen to like Patti's styling, haven't seen her in a while in this mag.

So Gisele's shoot isn't styled at all? Nothing wrong with the idea other than how outdated it is. VI is slowly turning into one of those 'social agenda' editions, and they're not in a position to do this. It doesn't feel earnest for starters. Secondly, it's maybe 2-3 years too late. I have a feeling this direction is basically to compensate for not being able to execute fashion properly.....

if you´re doing a shoot with no styling then at least use a model with an interesting personal style.

Lotta styling a VI ed... we really are hitting rock bottom around here. Vogue Italia was never about getting the cool kids to play, was about telling the cool kids HOW to play.

I'm having a love/hate relationship with the second cover. The idea of a cover/main ed centered about "home" is very latin/Italian and the kitchen is indeed the most important room of the house. But Gisele? This? It's just not working with her. It doesn't feel natural at all. I would love to see this with Bianca Balti: her kids blurred around her/in the back, she dressed with more than a hoodie,... it needs a bit more life. But I love Jamie's work here.

Extra kudos for having a good share of women photographers. Double kudos for giving a space to Italian talent like Clara Giaminardi. Looking forward to Viviane's ed, exquisite team.

I honestly don't care that much about Lotta styiling for this magazine, I don't mind her work particularly. Also people are acting like this magazine has always been premium quality, NEVER had any filler content and didn't resort to all kind of gimmicks, some of them quite desperate, from time to time.

Jamie was way overdue I feel, he definitely has a style of his own and has always lacked the platform to really make his work take center stage however he should have been paired with a proper stylist like Benjamin Bruno, or even Joe McKenna if they really wanted something casual but still fashionable.

Some of the editorial shots were up on the Daily Mail yesterday? The cover suggested the potential for an intimate portrait of Gisele in a setting we're not used to seeing her in. Instead, it seems more like tedious and insipid PR for the Brady family.

The idea of not being styled at all is as clueless as Alexandra's "The Real Issue".

I get it if it were the theme of the issue. But come on, the main editorial with no styling, with all the rest having over the top glam? Goodness.

This team needs a constant reminder that they are Vogue Italia. That this is Vogue Italia. This is not some indie magazine. Very interested with the numbers of this magazine. I know it's selling well in Italy, but I wonder how its doing Internationally? Because other international editions are killing it! Do people still buy this overpriced magazine when their local editions are doing so well?

I'd rather save up for VP than VI at this rate.

Or a model with an interesting personality...
I can’t cope how loud but boring she is...

I don’t think I bought a copy under the new editorship... whatever you say about Alt there is some consistency in VP... this is just too erratic from issue to issue...
