Vogue Paris March 2009 : Iris Strubegger by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

it's true that chanel accessories are the emphasis these days... but frankly, depending on how you mix it, chanel can apply to so many different age groups! i truly think karl is a genius and chanel will always be chanel... the way it is portrayed are simply inspirations... i mean when i look at these shoots (especially the edita one) i WANT to be that girl... therefore the fashion editor (Carlyne) succeeded in doing it! Don't you think?
It all depends on how mix and match, and create your own thing... ^_^

i, personally think what all eds except the one by David Sims its an overdose... esp edita`s one, esp shots with tons of necklaces, sunglaces, bags etc-she`s in Christmas-tree order. and about the age of chanel girl- its an aged woman just because its very high-priced label, so only adult and succesfull woman or jet-set downtown girl (trampy children) can buy it despite her age

i like the ed of Catherine McNeil and Carmen kasss the littles ed this time are better of the principal editorials

Carmen looks ravishing, the newbies have nothing on her

I just think it's stupid they erased the cigarette in the last shot but left the smoke in her eye!

And Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele's styling is decidedly as tacky as her name...

i don't think it's tacky at all... it's her trademark in all of her editorials! she's obsessed with accessories and she loves 'the more the better' look... i love it! and her name is French with Montenegrin descent! not tacky to me ;)

I thought I'd like Karlie's ed more after seeing the preview, but now, I'm not so sure I like it at all...

Iris', Daria's (it turn out better than I expected, mainly because I like the location) and Carmen's are the ones I like.
I think Carmen's is my fave, I love the styling and Carmen looks fab!

^ How is Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele's name tacky!?! She's practically royalty, and I don't mean fashion royalty. If I'm not mistaken, her grandma was the princess of Montenegro. And her styling is so cute and quirky and fun! It fits perfectly in VP.

I think it is expected that there would be an excess of double-C's- it is the Chanel issue after all. And somehow, Carlyne makes label overload seem so chic. I think it's a slam to all of the girls who do it, but look garish.

As for Carine, she once read that she is inspired by imperfections, i.e. stilettos with running pants. That could be the explanation behind her "ugly" styling.

When I first saw the preview of Karlie's ed I thought, oh, black and white boringness. But now as I look at it, I find it quite charming and cute. There is a touch of punk, which Carine seems to be influenced by at the moment if the spike collar in Iris's ed is apparent. And Karlie looks very Sid Vicious in the shot of her in the laced white button-up and mini-skirt. I really can't wait to get my hands on this issue.

Diorette, can you please scan the cover? :) If it's okay with you. :)

I was thinking about the main ed even more... Rodarte + Roberto Cavalli? Not that it can't work, but it was completely wrong and didn't work.

Carmen is looking amazing, as always.

There's something happening in all magazines - the "big" edits are not being as good as the "smaller" ones... Like in Vogue US... They could seriously give the chance to less famous photographers to show their work.

Carmen delivers in every single shot. but at the end this editorial is so typically Vogue Paris, it couldn't really get any better. classique!
