Vogue Paris May 2016 : Lottie Moss & Lucky Blue Smith by Mario Testino

Words cannot describe how utterly disappointed I am right now. What a safe and lazy cover. Terrible.

I wasn't that much of a fan of Kaia, but somehow I understood the family theme last month, so I gave it a pass. But this? What's the theme? And Lucky Blue Smith? Really? Lottie Moss, really? Who's next, Zayn and Gigi? Justin and the Baldwin girl?

But at least, they both look good and striking. That mitigates my annoyance.

And I can't believe I'm about to say this, but: I miss the Vogue Paris girls. Bring back Kate, Daria, Lara, Natasha, Anna. Yes, I wanted to see new faces, but if these are the faces that I'll see, then I'd rather stick with the usuals. I'd rather have 3 months straight of Lara than to see this.

With the way the "Big 4" are performing this year, I'd have to say that US Vogue is leading UK, Paris & Italia by a mile.. and that's considering how stale it has become.

Gotta say it´s not bad as I thought it was gonna be when I opened the thread... the styling and posing is very chic, very VP imo. I don´t mind Lucky but Lottie on the other hand :rolleye: she went from being a meh model working in almost nothing to landing a VP cover, what has the fashion world been reduced to? I know, I know...

I can only imagine how great this could have been with proper models.

Meanwhile, Raquel is waiting with her cats at home to have her Vogue Paris cover.

 Justice for Raquel!

This cover is so sad. At least if it was hideous it would've been more memorable. Lottie is clearly not model material and was there seriously no other male model available?

Now this truly is sad! When i came across this on Social Media, i actually thought its a bad Vogue Netherland cover, didn't even click to read properly. Now i see its VP? SMH!!!

^^Attention? People don't care about Vogue Paris anymore... It's not like Hedi at YSL or Demna at Balenciaga, who do create buzz around what they do and that translates to sales, hype, 'relevance'...

People are just perplex that Vogue Paris has become this sh*t of a magazine. But there is not real buzz about it at all. In fact, Vogue Paris is falling into oblivion.

I have a lot of pictures on my instagram profile that could have been a better cover.

Tragic. what's with VP having relatives of models on covers

Someone let me know when VP has a new EIC

2016 is the year of "models and nepotism" at Vogue Paris. Every model that has appeared in the magazine didn't make it by herself:

February: Edie Campbell
.

Edie is related to a famous person?

Edie is related to a famous person?

Of course, she's Sophie Hicks' daughter! A former fashion editor at Tatler and British Vogue, although she's famous for being an architect. She has done many boutiques: for Chloé, Yamamoto, Paul Smith... And she's friend of many designers, Marc Jacobs for example, and I think he was a Mario Testino close friend too.

Her family has been fashion related for generations. Don't you remember the Lanvin campaign??

BTW, the gif you chose is just too funny.

BTW II: Now I realize Lottie looks a lot like Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Bleh, there is no chemistry between Lottie & Lucky. One of the worst Vogue Paris covers.

I totally echo everyone's sentiments regarding nepotism. There are way too many top working models who should have gotten the VP cover a long time ago. This is like a slap in the face and the creativity is nowhere to be found. Cute photo, though, could've been used in an editorial of this issue if they wanted it so badly.

Both of them looks beautiful and it's a good cover for Saint Laurent. But as usual, boring.
The magazine is the definition of predictable so i know what to expect...

And that title: "LA GLOIRE DANS LE SANG"...Quel cynisme...

I just can't take VP seriously after they called Kendall a legend, and Blue is so last year.

We need a hero.

We´re holding out for a hero 'Til the end of the night.
She's gotta be strong and she's gotta be fast.
And she's gotta be fresh from the fight.

:D

When does the mag go on sale? maybe, just maybe the content will be a lot more interesting...

When I first read the title I got excited for a minute thinking it was Lottie Hayes.. :innocent:

I don't care for nepotism, this is quite a harmless profession, pout and do it until you get bored... it gets really bad in other fields. But, please, at least make them good-looking! I can think of several instances where girls that made it through last names were gorgeous.. Liv Tyler, Lucie de la Falaise, Marie Ange Casta.. it's so awkward that this girl is as pedestrian as it gets, there's nothing that would make you double look even in a supermarket. If I was her and my sister was Kate Moss, I'd be enrolling into Oxford or something, just to disassociate from the pressure to live up to a ridiculously high standard.. while still going places.
