What will replace skinny Jeans ?

It's obvious- us fashion geniuses will just find unique ways to wear skinnies. They'll become a backdrop for more statements, the way bootcuts used to be.

Or we'll have skinnies in colours like baby blue and hot pink.

With what shoes would you wear boyfriend jeans in the winter? Ballet flats are not convinient in the rain and trainers will not take you everywhere (like boots over skinny jeans do)... Boots under the jeans look a bit awkward imo... especially now that shoes are rounded at the toe... do you think that boyfriend jeans will force us to dig out our pointy shoes which used to look ok with wider-legged trousers???

i dont think ballet flats look good with bf jeans, even in the summer..
sneakers look good under bf jeans and thats how i'm wearing them in the winter

Yes, that's fine for shopping, but what happens when you want to dress up a bit, but still wear your jeans? I don't think that sneakers with jeans can take you everywhere like "boots over skinny jeans" used to... what about brogues... has anyone tried that?

Nothing will replace the skinny jeans in my wardrobe, but I'm liking more straight legged style's, I'm also drawn to more men's style trousers.. but that's not really jeans, boyfriend jeans don't suit me so i'll stay away from that.

i dont think one can 'dress up' bfs jeans ..
and like puccimama said, skinnies will be always be there, we are just discussing the 'future trend' in jean trousers, we dont say that skinnies will disapear from the face of the world

You put me into thoughts though... I'll take my questions to the boyfriend jeans therad, though.... ^_^ :flower:

for me...mid rise straight leg or high rise wide leg, but steering clear of skinny high rise, it looks tacky.

i agree with the natural waist straight leg jean, i've been alternating straight leg and skinny jeans for the last four years but all i can find are low waist or high waist, i would love each style with a natural waist cause i think that is most flattering and versatile

I'm also starting to replace my jeans with more of straight leg. They seem more werable with most of the boots I plan on wearing for this Fall/Winter.

I don't think it would be anything dramatically different, just something with a small amendment such as a stove pipe straight pencil cut jean that's a bit more flattering to wear. Something that isn't soo customed with that tight fit a skinny jean defines. Maybe even ankle length jeans.

hmm i thk the carrot jeans will be in next  which is basically a variation of skinny

In my opinion i don't think anything will. I wont stop wearing them. I think it's the wear you wear them that matters.

It takes a really long time for denim styles to swing in a totally different direction...look how long flares and boot cut were the norm...10 yrs?

I think it will just be straight leg, slim fit...which is what skinnies are except more severe.
The slim style will run its course until it runs out out of steam completely.

they still are in the us , most girls wont give up on them because they are flattering , skinnies are just to exclusive, straight legs are more comfy , but they are boring and so mom jean, so skinny is still more fashionable that way , i like wide legs a lot now. I dont think denim styles stay for 10 years thats ridiculous, also the boot cut is now a classic i dont see it going anywhere seriously because when the skinny fad dies out by the end of this year , majority of people will look for a style which is polar opposite of spray on denim. though if you look good in skinnies and only 5% of people actually do , keep wearing em.

On a trip downtown this week I was very saddened to look around and find skinny jeans EVERYWHERE. What really got me was when I saw those girls who wear head to toe labels in them. Imagine the huge sunglasses with the V in the front (so that even the people in the space station could know that they were Versace), the black and white striped sailor shirts from urban outfitters, silver sequined flats and fake *** louis vuitton bags with every color and brand of skinny jean out there. :yuk:
I knew it was time to move on.
I'm thinking the kind of baggy flare jeans. They look good with more form fitting tops or layers. Also I agree with teh straight leg jeans. I just don't know who would have good ones.

I totally agree with the more 1950s style straighter leg look. I dont think that skinny jeans will fade as fast as most want them to. Although they have hit mainstream stores, it has not become a staple...and whos to say it will.

About the Boyfriend jeans and what shoes to wear with them... A cute thick wedge may look half way decent.
