Love seeing former contestants walking NYFW... keep it coming!

Re: the new cycle... is it sad I gloss over the girls who are 20+? I just feel like being on ANTM is going to be hard enough for them, but over 20 is worse.

Both Stateena (C7) and Danielle (C6) got showcards for NYFW; they were the only contestants this time around that did. Hopefully, we will see something from Danielle as well.

Rachel Echelberger (C13) walked Wendi Reed RTW FW10-11. Does anyone have photos?

It is sad but only because the fashion world has given such a warped view of women's ages that people show derision at women who want to model but aren't teenagers. There is no logical reason why a woman can't model up to 30 and beyond.

Yeah it is sad and I glossed over them too. I somewhat understand why ANTM dosn't cast girls who are under 18, but then again I see a show like American Idol that has people who are 16 and 17 competing with adults and wonder why ANTM can't do the same.

But then again you can't compare singing and modeling and AI has contestants that have gone on to mainstream success; something that ANTM can't say has done yet. :P

Something tells me a bikini shoot or nude shoot with 16 year olds wouldn't fly. Not to mention, on AI they're not really filmed that much, and they probably get a LOT of supervised attention, even the adults, which they can't do on ANTM. Having house supervisers would just be too much, and it would take away from the drama, which means less ratings. And it would also get complicated at the international destination. Keeping it over 18 gets rid of all of those problems.

Yes, it has been mentioned in interviews that the contestants of ANTM are sleep-drived and also not fed on a regular basis. This is done to contribute to the tension (read: drama) and create ratings. You can't really do that with the underage kids.

To be fair, Mollie Sue was 25 when she appeared on the show. She is still going strong. However, she is the exception not the rule. I agree that it would be better for Tyra to lower the maximum age.
