is it a real show are a special antm runway like they did for a past season with Versace.

well it definatley beats the other crap they've done recently
It is a special show, as I stated in another thread, it really is not feasible for ANTM to have their finale show be the models walking in a "real" runway show because ANTM's filming schedule does not coincide with the runway season for the fashion capitals and the actual filming of a show like ANTM is too disruptive, perhaps if it is an up and coming designer looking for exposure, but I doubt if a major designer would make the compromises to their vision and share control when it comes to the debut of a new collection.

Have any of the Top Model shows in other countries had their contestants walk in a major fashion show as part of the finale? Note unless the models were walking in New York, London, Milan or Paris and perhaps even Madrid, Sao Paolo, Berlin or Los Angeles, I don't think it could even be considered walking in a "major" show as part of the final competition? ANTM has never done it, the closest they came was Cycle 1 when they did a rehearsal show for Baby Phat (I think it was edited and shots from the real show was spliced in). I don't follow the other locations that closely, but my understanding is that competitors from other Top Model shows may have walked in fashion week as part of the competition or a prize, but it was not the finale.

I don't think that people should get too hung up on the finale not being a "real" runway show, but I do think that having the contestants compete for the chance to walk in a "real" fashion show or alternatively compete to be featured in a look book is something that ANTM and the other Top Model shows should have as part of their rotation of challenges and prizes.

maybe all the top five girls will walk in the show to create confusion at the end of this season? or maybe that's one of the first things they will do in this cycle? :)

For awhile now they've had girls not in the final two walk in the final runway. There are behind the scenes pictures of Natalie, London, Fo, and Nijah from cycle 12 from the final runway. They announced cycle 13 and 14 that they were bringing the rest of the final 6 to the final runway.

The only one I could think of is Australia's Next Top Model, where the models had to actually go on go-sees for designers at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week(pretty major event with IMG sponsoring) to book the shows. Thus, the final 2 girls don't actually book the same shows, and one would usually book more shows than the other, like in cycle 4, when the runner-up booked 4 shows, and the eventual winner only booked 2. I think it started from Cycle 3(Alice Burdeu's cycle) that they actually had to go out on their own and book shows, instead of having it handed to them on a platter.

Thanks for the info Ash, in this case I am looking for a major designer who was willing to share the debut of their latest collection with a Top Model show filming its finale. Still it is good information to know and that is a practice I hope that ANTM would adopt. :flower:

Cycle two had Yoanna and Mercedes walking in a DSquared show.
My understanding is that when the models walked for DSquared2 for the S2 finale was a special showing and not the debut of the collection during Milan Fashion Week.

Fatima update from the Boston Globe
Onetime “America’s Next Top Model’’ finalist Fatima Siad apparently has a guilty pleasure: “Smelling old books.’’ In a Q&A accompanying her gorgeous six-page fall photo spread in Marie Claire’s July issue (right), the Hyde Park-bred Siad also admits that her bad habit is “not keeping in touch with people.’’ (Country crooner Taylor Swift is on the cover of the issue.) Siad, who was born in Somalia, has modeled BCBG, DKNY, and Avon, and came in third in Tyra Banks’s reality TV competition in 2008 after a friend made her go to the casting call. “It’s been a roller coaster month,’’ Siad, 24, told us by phone yesterday, on her way to visit her mom in Boston. In addition to the Marie Claire spread, shot by James Macari, Siad just wrapped up a shoot in Los Angeles for Vogue.

I don't like the "sexy" photos in black. She looks like someone from a teenage escort agency.
