i know, has she got loads of photographer friends or something? cos the pictures aren't even that good.

I never realized Nicole and CariDee looked so much alike. I thought it was CariDee at first. Either way, those pics are pretty bad.

Teyona just looks bad. I don't get how she won. Granted I didn't watch that cycle, but still.

this show has really lost the creativity. who in the hell is going to book girls that have 23yrs old and 5'6? It just doesnt make any sense. 5'7? are you kidding me? this show is trash!

if they plan in having a successful model, they need to rethink everything again.

I think ANTM became more of just a reality show and less a modeling competition around Season 3. It focuses a lot on drama and honestly, while the photoshoots they do are entertaining to watch, 90% of the genres would never be in a fashion magazine. I think a lot of decisions concerning the show were made to cater more to reality tv fans than model fans. Even showing the auditions, they've extended that part so much since the show started and my personal theory on that is because it's what American Idol does and they're trying to follow the same plan. The challenges have gotten more off topic as well. In the past they were a lot of personal style/runway/make up related ones and recently (while they do still occasionally include some of those kinds) it's been like American Gladiator stuff with a camera thrown in on set just so it looks like it's related to the competition. Like the tightrope walking on Season 7? Come on that had nothing to do with anything  And the street fighting in Brazil, the dressing up in gladiator outfits in Rome and posing (they could easily have done without all that and just had a normal teach but since it's a reality show, it's all about entertainment). And even with eliminations, sometimes I think they send a girl with more potential/fan favorite home just to be surprising and keep people watching and that's the same deal with the 5'7 season. A new catch to get more viewers

Gainsbourg is so right... the show is a show. It has to sell to all kinds of people (not only fashion lovers who know the demands in the real fashion world). Therefore it's getting sillier... and more off-topic fashion-wise. It wants to appeal to a whole mass of people and bring the message that the show has power to change the modelling industry today, to bring short girls (5,7...), sad stories and happy endings on the runways. Therefore they will get more people wanting to be on the show and more people watching and applauding. Sometimes I feel it's become like a story where the good gal is Tyra who wants to bring average, your girl-next-door type of people to the catwalk and the bad is represented by today's agencies, designers, fashion magazines etc who encourage height, slimness and not the girl-next-door type of features. :p
Till now, for me, the only girl with a story that had true model potential and is actually making it (compared to others) in the fashion world was Heather (cycle 9). Too bad she was eliminated. :p

Sometimes I really think Tyra doesn't know that much about the fashion world (like she claims to) based on the elimination choices she makes. As I said, it's a show and I think that comes before that model aspect but the biggest wtf for me was when Jaslene won over Natasha. I'm not a Jaslene fan anyway but while she did have a great body and could take a good shot, in today's modeling industry, it's the Eastern European girls who are in high demand. Tyra had an eastern European and she didn't pick her. You ask the girls questions in the auditions like "name some relevant designers etc" how about pick a relevant winner! If Tyra's so "fashion" she should know what's in right now on the catwalks. I don't get it, especially when she's always throwing the "the question is, can you get work?" line at the girls. I'm not saying anything against Jaslene, I'm just saying that it's further evidence of how the link between the show and the real fashion industry has drifted farther apart

I think the post show work speaks to that decision. Jaslene became relatively successful post show, and Natasha has done nothing. Jaslene took better pictures, had a better body, and had a better walk. There was absolutely no reason she shouldn't have won over Jaslene.

Being Eastern European in and of itself means very little. A girl has to have the goods to back it up, and Natasha didn't.

I think Tyra is very knowledgeable about the fashion industry and if she wanted to find a top girl, she could. But it's a tv show first and foremost. Casting is the single most important thing. Tyra has very little interest in the success of the girls post-show because that doesn't affect her ratings.

I think that giving girls that are considered too short by industry standards the chance to model is a very creative twist. Petite modelling exists, there are very short models with major agencies, and there are a lot of models today who are short but are advertised as being much taller, so why not?

You guys are so ignorant about the show, the casting directors struggle to find girls decent enough to appear on the show, the worst contestants are better than 90% of those who turn up. You expect girls to have the full package: height, body and face which is hard but even harder when they need to have a tv personality too. Another thing that you guys should know is that so many of the best models are found randomly: Natalia Vodionova was found selling bananas, Giselle Bundchen was found munching on Big Mac, Kate Moss was found on a plane; the thought of being a model probably never entered their mind. ANTM auditions are open calls, potential models have to go to them, the casting directors can't go round chasing girls, they could risk going away empty-handed and they don't have the time.

I just hate people criticizing the show when they don't know the half of it.

^ I know about how randomly models are found and that's how it should be, I never said anything about that. And in truth, NONE of the ANTM girls were really model potential from any season in my opinion, I just think there were a lot of better choices than the ones that were eliminated at certain times. And yeah I criticize the show but I still love it and watch it even if it is crap lol

That's what really burns me about this show. She sends home girls that have way more potential way before girls that are there just causing drama or girls that Tyra really wants to win. It's biased and really ruins the whole purpose of finding an actual next top model. A classic example would be A.J. from cycle 7, she did amazingly in all her shoots and she looked like a model but for some reason she wasn't into the stupid 'celebrity couple' concept shoot, she gets eliminated? It's like the judges completely forgot about her previous shoots. And with Mollie-Sue from cycle 6, she got eliminated way too early.

But Tyra & producers do have agendas that aren't realistic to the standards of actual modeling but hey ho it is a reality show for entertainment purposes. I've come to realize that- it certainly explains how Saleisha won.

Girls under 5'7" You gotta be kidding me if they could not find a girl that was standard modeling height that had the It factor then aint no way in H_LL they're going to find a short girl to move any mountains! Maybe Tyra should take a break from this show or have it Re-Vamped! It has become so predictable even with the editing. I can tell you from the beginning of the episode whose going home based on how they edit the show. I've seen ANTM send home girls that actually have the look to walk Versace or Dior shows only to keep girls not fitting of a editorial in a Auto Parts Catalog...:woot: Case in point when Whitney won up against the likes of Anya, Fatima, Dominique and etc....
Tyra said she wanted to do one in regards to finding a top male model maybe she should until she figure out a better appeal for the women b/c what company is looking for models with lackluster appeal under 5'7"....? NOBODY!
