I still believe the final 2 should have been Nicole & Erin - both girls very high fashion and they're the best from the start so it wasn't fair that Erin didn't get a chance to compete against Nicole.
I agree with this. Erin and Nicole were the best two from their season and should have been in the final two. Laura is a cute, sweet girl. However, her features are a bit course and I really don't see the model.
watching Teyona made me wonder again How could Tyra choose her over Allison it really doesn't make sense and I'm still pissed at that , but at least she learned from her mistake this time.
I felt the same way until I started seeing post-show work. Allison's lastest photos for Burger & Friends at Karmaloop.com are just awful. She looks greasy and unwashed, and she never should have removed the blonde. I am totally over her not winning.
Teyona has been turning it out in Cape Town. I am impressed that Elite sent her to South Africa to build her book and that they ordered so many tests for her. This is something they've not done for anything other winner.
Plus, Teyona is the only winner to book magazine spreads from the get-go without the words "ANTM" splashed across the pages.
IMHO, Celia looks like an old woman. The fact that she cannot get signed with an agency speaks volumes.
This post here comments on her look. I agree with everything that is said.
am not so keen on both cover girl shots, they just dont stand out. The ones from prev seasons hav been better.
Yes, Nicole looks like an amputee in the solo shot. Something about her face looks off in the picture with Tyra. The photoshopping is awful.
If these girls were really smart, they would enter into contests that are held by major modeling agencies, like the Ford contest. I think being in a reality TV show with Tyra in it makes them believe it's a big gateway into the modeling industry.
For some contestants it has been a win. Mollie Sue (Cycle 6), Eugena (Cycle 7), Bianca (Cycle 9), and Lisa (Cycle 9) were not able to get signed with an agency before appearing on the show. Mollie, in particular, was too short and too old. Elite, who was not even the agency associated with the show, saw her and signed her.It has worked out for some contestants, and I think that's what the girls are banking on.
Yes, Fatima and Katarzyna and Shandi would have been far better off had they never gone on the show in the first place. However, that's not true for every contestant.
^^As much as we bash Tyra, and she deserves many of the criticisms, she is immensely admired by young models and young women in general
This is quite true. Both Chanel Iman and Sessilee Lopez have stated that she is their role model. Tyra's talk show also consistently scores in ratings with young women. Why? I have no idea. All she does is talk about herself. However, she is popular.
Re the discussion above about the ANTM finale shows not being the designers FW shows:
I can't see any designer, unless it is one who really wants publicity or that is new and cannot afford the top ranked models let ANTM use their FW showing for reasons that have nothing to do with the reputation of ANTM or how high fashion the show and its cast is or is not, letting the ANTM production team have the access they need for filming is too disruptive. Was C2 finale for D-Square a FW week show? Also the question is moot because the ANTM finale does not coincide with FW and also it is a huge spoiler if the show is big enough to be covered by the major online fashion magazines and blogs like style.com.
Yes, the shows are not real. Even with the eliminated contestants used as decoys - this cycle was *not* the first time that eliminated girls walked in the final runway - it would be difficult to hide who the final two were. In fact, the final two for Cycle 12 were spoiled early by someone that attended the final runway show.
We know her patterns on ANTM:
1. Every 3 season, a black girl wins..regardless!!!
2. Winners don't repeat (ex. blonde wins, blonde won't win again next season etc.)
3. Each season she picks girls that will fit the following roles: b*tch/villain, ugly duckling/awkward girl, girl with a sob story, girl who has no personality and a black girl who does so bad but since Tyra likes "her", she saves her repeatedly
Since you took it there, I will throw my own comments in.
You have forgotten the patterns of:
1. Every few seasons a white girls wins...regardless!!!
2. Each season she picks a white girl who does so bad but since Tyra likes her she saves her repeatedly.
Lulu looks amazing with that cut. Much better than that weave.
Agreed. Each cycle, Tyra usually ruins someone with the makeover. This time it was Courtney, Lulu, Rachel, and Sundai.
