I highly doubt she has the rights but I agree. I listened to that song A LOT, far more than I should have...

My favorite song and video was by Lisa. Allison's was quite haunting, especially when watched with Tyra removed.

Laura had my least favorite song and video.

Lauras was like a drunk Taylor Swift video and song
but shes so cute and such a sweet southern girl I almost forgive her

are there any previews of tonights episode ?

this week's photoshoot is amazing! definitely my favorite shoot of all the cycles,
for the first time i look at top model pictures and think "wow, this could really be in a magazine"

This post is about the most recent episode that aired on 11/9 and it contains SPOILERS. If you do not want to know what happened in this episode, read no further.

SPOILERS * SPOILERS * SPOILERS
So I can't say I'm surprised that Shannon ended up being the one going home. I've always been a fan and I like that fact that she stands up for something. Like Tyra said, there are so many girls desperate to break through they'll do anything, it's refreshing to see someone the opposite of that. With that said, I do think she did not explain her position properly. Or at least not from what we saw. I don't think her stand is hypocritical or inconsistent. I feel like he issue is not so much showing skin as much as projecting what she feels is 'forbidden'. For example you can be nude and cover the private parts with strategically placed objects and would show no more than if you were wearing a lingerie, but I'm sure not all models/actresses would agree to that. Same with bathing suit/lingerie. While it may show the same amount of skin, one projects beach, outdoor, public audience, while the second projects intimacy, privacy, and forbidden. I think it's quite reasonable to be ok with doing one and not ok with doing the other.

Additionally, I thought it was interesting that they make such a big deal about 'branding' and then eliminate the girl for furthering her brand while saving a girl whom they claim contradicts her brand.

Also, Lisa is so underrated by the judges. They make up the silliest reason to put her down. Her picture was stunning. Probably my favorite one (Dom had a good shot too) yet she was in the bottom three? BS.

I bet the original concept of the shoot was for them to wear bathing suits, but they changed it to underwear that looks like bathing suits, just because Shannon was there.

Shannon's song playing while she was eliminated. Classic!

this weeks shoot would have been good but IMO it turned out cheap due to the photography

Additionally, I thought it was interesting that they make such a big deal about 'branding' and then eliminate the girl for furthering her brand while saving a girl whom they claim contradicts her brand.

Tyra's reason at the end was kind of silly. But that being said, early in the episode Shannon commented that she was the only one who hadn't earned any first call-outs. While I don't agree with her, I respect her decision to maintain her firm stance on her image. It must have come as no surprise, tho, when she was eliminated since they had to go by her previous work (and none of her previous work had been outstanding.)

it confuses me that she will wear bathing suits that leave very little to the imagination, yet she wont pose in bra/panties that look more like bathing suits than anything.

i mean i get that she thinks its only for her husband to see, but if she felt that way would she really be fine with showing almost more skin in a skimpy bikini ? is there really a difference ? :ermm:

Yes, the difference is the intent. One is meant for public display, the other is meant for private display.

I agree that it's weird because she shows more skin with a skimpy bathing suit but I can also see her point of view.

why discuss it? shannon is an extremely dumb person.
i wanted to throw up when she said "i don't have a problem with looking sexy, i mean i like to dress sexy"

her problem with lingerie is that its supposed to be worn inside clothes as opposed to bathing suits that are worn for all to see however skimpy they may be

Here's an interview with Shannon. IMO, she sounds rational and again, I see what she's saying about underwear v. bathing suit.

Wetpaint Entertainment: How did you feel when you were eliminated?

Shannon Stewart: Actually I was kind of relieved. I know, shocking, right? I wanted to win. The prizes were definitely right down my alley. My dream since I was 5 was to be a spokesperson for a makeup company. I was relieved, though, because I was kind of just over being bullied in the judging room. They told me to stay true to my brand, yet every week I’m being told to be more naughty, or to raunch it up a little bit. Several comments were very offensive to me. I was like, you know what? They want me to be trustworthy, yet they want me to be naughty.

When I was pitched the idea for coming on the show, I was told that it was supposed to be about branding you, what you wanted for your brand, how you wanted your career to go — if you wanted to sing, if you wanted to act, if you wanted to speak — you know, whatever you wanted. Once I get on the show I’m like, right from the get-go, this has nothing to do with that.

When did you start to realize that?

From the first photo shoot. Like I told them before I came on the show that I didn’t do underwear and right away, I was asked to pose in it — and I was the only girl in the house being asked to pose in it.

Who did you feel you were bullied by?

I thought Nigel was... I don’t think Nigel got me, and I don’t think he wanted to get me. I just don’t think he liked me. He didn’t even know me. I just got the gist when we were in the judging, he seemed to like certain girls but he didn’t give me the vibe that he liked me. And I mean, people, sometimes you just click with people and sometimes you don’t. Like at the perfume challenge, he put both hands on my hips and tried to push me in the bathtub. At that point I was using the bathtub as my prop, I wasn’t even in the bathtub. And I’m like, you’re three inches from my face, you’re actually pushing me in the bathtub, and the only thing keeping me up was like the backs of my knees. But I’m not a quitter. I wasn’t raised to quit, I want to finish.

Who are you rooting for now?

I don’t know. I really have no clue. I’ll be watching just like the rest of the world. Of course, Lisa’s my girl, and I love Laura, Laura’s so cute. Angelea is still in there, and she’s in the blue room. Whoever’s supposed to win is going to win.

Do you have any regrets about not participating in the shoot in Greece?

No, it was like a double-edged sword basically. If people were to think about it, if I were to do that shoot, they would have replayed what I said on the first photo shoot: I don’t pose in underwear. What would I have been known for my brand? My brand is trustworthy, therefore I would not be known as trustworthy because I m not good for my word, I’m doing something I said I won’t do, so either way I’m really stuck. Definitely no regrets.

Do you think the judging was fair this cycle?

No, you know, I had to stand up there for a while on the last one, and they didn’t air anything that I said. So hopefully they air that in the recap episode. I’m not confused, and I think that I was there looking confused most of the time. I’m not confused. I know what I will or won’t do. I didn’t appreciate being bullied you know, I thought that only happened in high school. I didn’t drink, I didn’t sleep around, and people teased me for that, and now I’m on the show and it’s like, people can’t respect you for saying “no.” It’s like I don’t want to do it — why are you so mad for me not wanting to do something? And they were like, confused. But I’m not confused — it’s my brand and I know what I want it to be. My fans get it and that’s all that matter.

Underwear, to me, I think of intimacy. My bathing suits do not look like the underwear that I wear. So it doesn’t even have to do with the skin part. I grew up...I played sports, so I wore bathing suits to swim because I was a swimmer. Underwear, it’s like, you wear that underneath your clothes, or in the bedroom. I can be a Victoria’s Secret Angel for my husband.

Would you say no if Victoria’s Secret offered you a job?

I would say yes for their clothes, because I love their clothes, but not for their underwear. I would keep that behind closed doors. My husband doesn’t have a problem with it. Apparently people really want to see me in underwear.

You seemed to butt heads with Bianca — do you speak to her now?

I actually have no beef with Bianca. We were filmed 24/7, 7 days a week, and the show is an hour long but with commercials it’s probably 42 minutes or so. That’s all you’re seeing, so any kind of riff, any kind of discussion is blown out of proportion. I would like to say, I don’t have a problem with confrontation. I did say that on the show, and I don’t know why I said it that way — that was my fault. But I just don’t like to argue. I will say that, for myself, I have no problem confronting somebody if I don’t agree with them or if they’re asking me a question, but I just don’t like to argue.

But I have no problem with Bianca, we actually got along. We cooked together, we laughed, she dressed me one time, we had a lot of fun. We like, danced around the house. We were doing crazy things, like laughing — I would think that that would be kind of interesting, like everybody getting along. I don’t know why everyone just wants to see everybody fight all the time, like I don’t necessarily think that that makes great TV. I think great TV is just people being goofy and us dancing, like Allison and I were like, rolling during the music video thing because we were both so nervous. It shows that we’re human. But they’ve been on for 17 cycles so what do I know about anything?

Who were you closest to in the house?

The blue room, and then Lisa. We called it the blue room because it looked like the sky with Alexandria and Angelea, and then Lisa. I love Lisa. We’re like opposites but she’s just funny. She’s different from me, but she has a similarity like we don’t care what people think about us. We’re going to be who we are no matter what. And she’s really cool and funny so I was glad I got to meet her. I had met her once for an interview we did, like “Where Are They Now,” and I was in my interview and all of a sudden I turn around, and there was a girl running around naked. I’m like, who is that? And I remembered that, so on the show I’m like, wait a minute... Were you the girl who ran around my interview naked? And she was like, I am so sorry, I didn’t know who you were or what you’re about, I’m sorry if I offended you. And I was like, no I wasn’t offended that’s you, you can do whatever you want!

I try to treat others the way that I want to be treated, and if someone is a different religion or someone doesn’t believe at all, or someone is an atheist, I wouldn’t want them to push it on me. One of the greatest commandments of being Christian is the love. I just try to love people. A lot of people talk the talk but they don’t walk the walk.

How did you husband feel while watching you this cycle?

He didn’t like the way a few things were edited because he knows me, we know each other. The thing with Bianca, it airs me just basically crying for no reason. Uh, no. I called one of the producers on that — I was like, why didn’t you show half the conversation. All of a sudden I’m on the bed crying and I’m sorry but I don’t cry for no reason. I’m a really happy person. So [my husband] was kind of disturbed about that, but he thought overall, “you’re the best looking one in the house, you should have won.” But at the end of the day he was proud that I stayed true to who I was, and to him that was more important than winning.

What are your career plans now?

I’m working on two books, one that is fiction and one that is non-fiction, that I’m working on with Tricia Goyer. One’s about my life, and the journeys that I’ve been on, to show the ups and downs because you know, my life’s not been easy like everybody thinks. I’ve had trials just like everybody else. I’ve slept in a closet before and had to pay the bills. I went to Australia before, I turned down jobs, but got others in return. I encourage young people to raise the standard and always stay true to who they are, because I feel that it will always be worth it, and to give people hope. Because if you don’t have hope, what do you have? Money doesn’t bring happiness and money doesn’t buy you peace, because there are so many stars that have gone to rehab, that have drug addictions.

Are you planning on having kids soon?

Yes, we want kids. I want to be the little mom and, if I could choose, I would like a boy and a girl. But yes, I have that motherly thing in me. And I just love kids. So yes, definitely, that’s on the agenda.

Would you encourage your daughter to be a model?

No. I would be praying hardcore because this business will eat you alive if you don’t know who you are. You can get pulled in all different directions because everyone has their opinion. There’s models that sleep with photographers to get ahead, so it’s a hard business. I’m not going to encourage it, because I’ve lived it and I know what the business is about.

I get it... I think it is as stupid and pointless as a box of lint... but I get it

im just thinking now, why did she even say yes to coming back? she should have known that there would be at least one shoot with them in lingerie of some kind and for the prizes, that could have taken her far and what if her VI shoot involved posing in panties or something? she would have said no to VI and that could have hurt her career :ermm:

is that miss Raina on the bottom of our screen in that Maybelline advertisement?

i respect her ability to stay so true to her 'brand', but i think her view on it is silly

answering your question, i don't think she's against posing in lingerie due to the amount of skin shown, but simply because lingerie is originally meant to wear in the bedroom with your significant other. i guess due to shannon being so conservative, she reserves intimate bedroom related things to be strictly for her husbands mind.. if that makes sense lol

like it's kind of a war of skin exposure vs. what it stands for, and i guess the idea of lingerie being more risque than bathing suits is what sealed the deal for her:unsure:
