Asian Eyes

Sometimes I like not wearing any eye make-up at all (except for some mascara). Let's embrace the unique shape of our eyes!

as for the hightlighter under the brow I use the MAC #213 Fluff brush. To pack on color on the moveable lid I mostly use H&M sponge tip applicators, cheapish an work well, except for the fact that the sponge part can come off if you are washing it... just have to put it back in place. other spong tips will do also, I did have a MAC sponge tip applicator but the sponge part itself began to crumble  bad quality for a high price. Then I use the MAC #219 Pencil brush for the lower lid, mainly to pack on the black e/s to line and to give the smokey eyes effect.

However, the most important tool are still my fingers, especially for blending dark colors on the upper lid with the highlighter

HTH! And btw thanx for your karma Bluestar07! :flower:

:flower:

yeah! I hate it when the sponge applicator comes off / crumbles to dust! I much prefer brushes but mostly I use my fingers too. Talk about being "hands on" ;)

ASIAN EYE SHAPE - usually has a minimal eyelid and eyes are wide space. Gently brush a light or neutral color over eye area and blend towards nose area. Using a darker shadow, apply to lid, starting along lash line, and fading the color upwards and out to a half-way pint between lash and eyebrow. Apply eyeliner close to lashes to give appearance of thickened lash line. Line the lower lid and smudge to soften the line.

I hate when makeup artists tell asians not to wear too much black eyeliner cause it will make they're eyes look "smaller". but why not make it look that way?
we should accentuate our features. or at least appreciate them. IMO.
i like the cat eye look from jjbunny. very cute.

thanks :) but my mom think i look like a goth tho lol its funny.

I think most Asians adore their black eyeliner, regardless of its potential decrease in eye size :D I know I love black liquid liner... It's intense but doesn't seem too much since otherwise my eyes blend into my face... So I always have dramatic eye makeup. My friend says I look like a prostitue though...

I love east asian eyes. I wish I had them.
I think this particular makeup looks really nice.

I never ever wear black eyeliner. And i only wear very smudged up kohl type eyeliner. I want a bit of smudgey color but not a highly defined shape to my eye.
I think the long, slanty Almond eye shapes of Asian women are incredibly beautiful. Embrace it and don't try changing it into something its not.

 Sometime I think I look rather hookerish too! :p

Lucy Liu obviously uses black eyeliner to create those cat like eyes and it's gorgeous!

anyone here who doesn't have a crease (or double eyelids as some may call it)???
Not only do i not have a crease, my eyelids folds under right at my lashes, so that if i line righ above my lashes, i can't even see the line when i open my eyes. WHA!!!! It's so difficult to makeup!
Any help/reccommendations???

on a side note, my eyebrows are also very thin and short. Does anyone know a product (powder, etc) that i can use to fill in my brows that will look natural on an oriental person?

It's not even that I'm trying to alter the shape or anything. It's more of an issue of them not being defined enough for my liking so I like to pile on black eyeliner lol.

It's more fun doing dramatic eye makeup though! The hooker look isn't THAT bad... Well, I'm fairly young so I guess that could be why.

i find that black eyeliner make lashline look fuller and give it a sultry vibe, but i dont feel like pile them up lol
hooker makeup lol its funny, one year i pile on black eyeliner (a goth look) for halloween, but instead it make my eye look bigger because i forgot to line my inner rim lol and then there was a girl like "oh you are too cute to be scary"... lol i will post somthing close to that later... but i also like just putting a think eye on lower lash to have a punk look.
currently i want a dark brown (esspreso shade) or black brown liner because my eye is in a med-lite brown (or olive/dark hazel/yellow according to different people) tone and the brown tone do bring out the green/yellowness:P hah its fun to fool everyone

I desperately needed eyeliner and went to get some from MAC yesterday. I love

in brownborder but they were out so I got graphblack instead. I don't know it that will be too harsh.

lol here, my pix of me wearing that kinda look, not as harsh at last time, but somethin close to that. lol i look like an alien cat :S
p.s. if u worry the balck liner is too harsh, you can always smudge it a lil bit and put jewel tone shadow on top to spike it up :P or other shadow just to tone it down (i use a bit grey in here, i think)

This is the prettiest picture I've seen of her :flower: It looks like liquid eyeliner on the tops and bottom rims of her eyes, a shimmery eyeshadow on the lids, and a bronzer or blush on the cheeks. Anyone want to elaborate :D ?

jjbunny, your eyes are huge and pretty. i think you should just spend lots of attention on your lashes and then use a really pretty blush and lipgloss/color

I agree! You don't even need shadow ... just eyeliner and mascara. You look fabulous!
I tried it out... and it's not harsh at all. I just have to make sure I draw a very thin line and flick it out at the outer corner to give that "lift" B)

thanks :) hehehe im like eye-makeup addict :P

so wut kinda look u guyz are usually lookin for?
