Asian Eyes

For those girls who wear liquid eyeliner, how far do you extend the line on the top of your eyes? I really want to get that pretty winged look, but I'm not sure how long I should extend it! Also, do you guys tend to thicken the line as you get to the outside corners of your eyes? And do you add any liquid eyeliner on the bottom of your eyes? Pictures are encouraged if you have any! Thanks :flower:

I would avoid liquid on the bottom, it has a tendency to smear badly on me, plus it looks harsher than I'd like. Personally I prefer gel to liquid though, I prefer the texture more.

I'm asian (vietnamese). I thought liquid eyeliner was messy at first, but once I got the hang of it, it goes on pretty smooth! Here's me with liquid eyeliner:

Me with hazelnut and deep brown shimmershadows from L'oreal and mascara from YSL (I LOVE this mascara! I have short, straight, downturned asian lashes... And I never go out of the door without ysl mascara on my lashes. Never. :ninja:)

oh i agree! what is the mascara called? or does ysl only have one mascara.. lol sry dumb question!

White eyeliner apparently makes your eyes bigger and eyelash curler!! Never forget the eyelash curler!!

I love your lashes! I am asian too with almond shaped eyes. I use YSL Faux Cils but never get that result. It makes my lashes super long though!

Thanks for the comments, gals!^_^

MimiMcQueen: I normally use several coats to build up the lengthening effect, because I have so stick straight lashes. But it really works!:D I think this is a good "building" mascara. You can keep adding coats as long as you let them dry between every coat. If this doesn’t work, maybe you can apply a mascara base under from root to tip right before applying usual mascara ? For example Shieseido mascara base (great review overall).

Wait for lashes to dry completely, then use a clean lash comb (or the comb end of an eyebrow brush) to seperate the individual lash hairs and remove clumps.

Voila! Clump-free lashes:)

Chloe -gorgeous eyes! Could you please tell me a step to step guide for it! Thank you! I am hopeless with makeup :(

Chloe I love your eyes especially in the second look. And I second the step by step application guide request. My eyes are pretty similar to your, right down to the double eyelid!

^ u can try line ur bottom lashes a bit heavier and then wing out right at the outer corner, that would be pretty neat too.

I'd really like to start playing with eyeshadows, what colour combinations are best? And how should I apply it? Specifically for single/no crease eyelids.

Thanks in advance! Some youtube tutorials helped a little, but most of them had some resemblance of creases :(

I've also recently bought a heated eyelash curler, it helps heaps!

^ it depend on how your eye shape and the portion of the eyes compare to the face too. because every eyes have different properties (as in how hollow/flat, how much fat deposit in the eye lid (or even just how swollen it is), propertion, blah blah blah)
but the safeest is always stick to this: use smokey colour (the paler ur skin, the soft the colour should go, and vice versa) on the upper lash line and blend out softly to create a smoky eye. that is the very basic example of putting makeup on single lid, as you will see in makeup books.

but then again, post a pic of your eyes :P then we might get a better grip of it :P
