Men's jeans for girls

you know that pair of broken down jeans from a boyfriend you love having and wear because they are comfortable and perfect for that lazy day? Nice and loose, worn in....well if you are sans boyfriend like yours truly...what styles/stores do you think would allow for this look?

I am needing some jeans like this and have scowered second-hand shops as well as regular stores but can't find this type of jean...I think I've figured out what size I am in men's, but otherwise have no luck. Any ideas/what to look for would be great:flower: :flower:

ps looked for this thread, couldn't find, but if I overlooked feel free to merge :)

Most men's jeans are too large for women. I wear a size 30/31 in jeans and I think that translates into a size 9. 30 is usually the smallest many brands will go.

I was thinking of some pant that would look like this - a loose style, I assumed by the zipper length they were men's, no?

i have been trying to find a pair like those as well!

Get some APC new standards, they're mainly aimed at men but they're unisex (kinda like the reverse of secret deodorant:D ) which means you will find a pair that fits you, of course this won't work if you're more curvaceous or rubenesque as they're a slim, slightly tappered fit (nothing ultra tight, just a more modern take on the classic levi 501 fit).

I'm a lover of this style of jeans.
Especially since I have no waist/backside it works out just great.

You are on the right track; I think you need to keep hitting the thrift stores and second hand stores. If you are too small for the men's sizes available, you may find a pair that fits in the boys' section. :flower:

tangerine what name would you give to this pant for men's, just a regular jean would work? b.c men's jeans can be categorized into tapered, bootcut, relaxed, what would you hypothesize would work best? thanks:flower:

That's a great idea! I've always had a strong hostility towards the fact that male Levi's are of a better quality than female Levi's.

My first impression of the jeans in the pic attached below (attributed to the sartorialist blog) was that they were "just a pair of old Levis"; on closer inspection, they seem cut closer through the knees, but in general, "boyfriend jeans" (at least the ones my girlfriends have worn in the past ;)) are in fact old Levis, just regular 501s. The main characteristic other than being well broken-in seems to be that they should be a little large for you and hang off your hips. I would say that a regular, straight-leg 5 pocket jean is the starting point.

yeah...i stole a pair of my brother's old jeans and they were everything you could dream of.....

i literally wore them out...
they were repaired and patched so many times until i finally had to retire them...
but i cannot part with them---- so they live in my closet...

i have never found anything to replace them with...:ermm:...
my last boyfriend was tiny and his jeans weren't big enough to look cool enough on me...

lol...not really great for the old ego when your butt is as big as your boyfriend's...:ninja:
although he always said it was supposed to be that way- i never bought it...:ermm:...

...

oh- and i also have a pair of men's helmut lang jeans that are pretty swell...

my bro's jeans were levi's 505's....no button fly...with a rather high waist which i always wore pushed real low on my hips...
and let the hems drag and shred...

oh how i miss those jeans...

i may have to go and visit them now....:innocent:...

:p

softgrey your jeans sound like my dream. Must go tomorrow to scour for some old levis. And I completely agree with you, it gives me a complex sometime when the guy I'm with is tinier than me....its unsettling

I like this style but it's depend of the jeans! But some of girls are really cute with them!

Acne Jeans

I love this style!

If you haven´t done that, try Acne Jeans! It´s a swedish brand and I like it a lot! The prices are around 190 €.

First try Acne Hug . It´s a girls jeans and a baggy all the way to the knee, but slim below. It looks very cool on girls with small hips. And it comes in a lot of different tones/ washes. This style usually looks better on girls than the all loose style.
In Berlin many girls wear it now, and when I bought an Acne Hex 3 months ago the salesgirl (!!!) at the Acne store told me to rather go for Hug instead because the Hex style was soooo out! I got them anyway, I can not wear the baggy style so well since I am very tall and do have hips.

If you want a comfy straight leg, Acne Mek is perfect. It is unisex, loose fit with worker details. But I heard they where going to be discontinued.(?)

Just check out the Acne website www.acnejeans.com They have good pictures of their collection and a really helpful guide to jeans.

Hmmm, I just checked the Acne website myself, and the pictures of the Hug jeans are a bit misleading... They are quite a bit baggier in the top half in real life, or the girls I´ve seen wearing them have gone up 2 sizes...

Will this be the new "jeans-must-have" after skinny jeans?

And will it look great on any type of body?

Hm, I don't think it will going to be an big hype.. just a small one. My opinion is that you have to be thin and tall to wear it.. otherwise it don't flatter.
