Boyfriend Jeans

i see this becoming big after the skinny becomes overdone ( which is coming very soon I expect...)

I am so happy that this is finally taking off! I have been wearing my boyfriend jeans for about 2years now! They are great, they look cool and are so comfortable. I like them because they are sooo baggy but they are extra low rise!

Topshop do the best Boy Jeans  I have also been wearing them for ages, and have a few pairs.

I think they are more wearable, and I never really got into the Skinny Jean thing, being 5ft I thought they made my legs look even shorter.

Glad one trend has finally come along that I don't have to spend any more money on!! :p

I love this 'type' of jeans!!They are so comfy^_^ :woot: .I lend them from my brother sometimes..:p

i believe they are destined to get huge...
but i cant see why one shouldn't choose in co-existance with skinnies, i mean why should one do only one style? i love mixing looks both skinnies and bf's jeans fit perfectly with my scizo moods :)

anyway, what i love best with bf jeans as you call them, is that one gets this 'lost weight' feeling which makes me feel so good..
basically buying a pair one or two sizes over your normal size can easily 'do' the trick and i love to see that so many of you are 'ready' for this kind of jeans

*agreed with tangerine, one can be 'short' and non skinny and still looking fab in those lose fitting bf jeans ;)

I absolutely agree. ^_^ Sometimes you feel like working those skinnies, and other times you want something loose and punk-ish. Jeans for every mood! :woot:

... those certainly look cut for women as they taper in from hip to knee; to me the classic "boyfriend jean" look falls straight from hip to knee; I think of that as the essence of the profile. But maybe that's just me. :)
i agree, Tangerine, i have 2 pairs bought in the boys department for that reason:)

another way to wear them... =)

A lot of people (not everyone here, just people general) seem to think that the boyfriend jean translates into something somewhat "unfeminine"; I see a lot of girls wear these jeans with bland cotton tees or tanks.

But why wear this jean with other style-less basics like sneakers and plain tees? To counterbalance the masculinity and unshapeliness, I like to wear slouchy men's jeans with some of my most ruffly, girly tops and fun ballet flats, sandals, or open-toe heels. Then I'll toss a cardigan or simple tiny hoodie over the blouse if it's chilly. It's all about mixing it up!

As for the jean itself, I shop for actual men's jeans, rather than the "boyfriend jean" made expresssly for ladies, because I like that they are super slouchy and baggy on women. I look for narrow fits (which will still be nice and roomy for me), get the smallest size possible, and belt them around my hips.

So comfy and fun!

Most men's jeans are too large for women. I wear a size 30/31 in jeans and I think that translates into a size 9. 30 is usually the smallest many brands will go.

American Eagle has the smallest men's jeans I've found (I guess for all the seventh graders who shop there). And Abercromie boys jeans are probably good for women, they look like Abercrombie & Fitch boy smaller. Not very cutting edge, but they're good enough.

my husband's jeans are waay too big, but my only and last attempt to buy men;s jeans (meaning i didnt want anything sexy or hip hugging) i bought a pair of men's diesel and it falls off me :x, im planning to go shopping tomorrow, i guess i wont get a huge size but a small size that just looks relaxed , and since im "blessed" with hips, i hate wearing jeans and tanks cuz i end up looking sexy or whatever, but these types of jeans seem to be perfect! will keep ya guys updated!

Totally agree

I wore mine under a floral dress and ballet flats, I also wear mine with girly cami, basically I treat them just like my normal straight leg jeans. (That pics was just to show the jeans, if that matters):p :D

Not too keen on this type of jean - they just don't compliment me at all..
But I do like the idea of wearing them with some ultra-girly tops.

Awesome! I didn't mean to and I hope I didn't offend, why_fashion. I like the jeans in your pic A LOT and they sound lovely with the kinds of outfits you descibed. :D :flower:

i have a gorgeous pair of earl jeans that ive had for a few years now
they are straight legged but not tight at all and really comfortable, also really fit the whole boyfriend jeans trend as their size and cut looks a little like nicked them off of my guy

I heard a trend report for these a while back...they are just the wide leg jeans I wore in 8th grade, with a new name. They remind me of JNCOs.

I would recommend to anyone who can't fit into their actual boyfriend's jeans to have a look at Miss Sixty... I've bought a great pair (perfectly washed colour and rips on the knees which don't look pretentious) in summer 2004 and another one (darker with no rips) last year... They normally stock them every year and they fit exactly as they should (at least on me)... loose on the waist but not too losse to demand a belt and slouchy on the bottom and thighs (especially when worn a couple of times after wash)...

Another advantage is that Miss Sixty clients (and target group) normally go for more trendy pairs, and leave the simple styles alone, so in the 2 years that I've been wearing them, I've never seen anyone else wearing the same pair with me anywhere...

Sort of like it but I don't know.. I am a size 24/25 in jeans, I think that I would probably drown in 'bf jeans' so to speak..

^ a 27 pair can do the trick , try and have a look twilight
