A publicity stunt? Seriously? If there is anything Kate has been consistant about, it's doing own shopping when she can. Just search both threads, and you'll find plenty of examples. And if she was "trying to get attention," she would be dressed to the nines.

And it's not like she's the first royal to be photographed shopping on her own. Just because they have people who can shop for them, doesn't mean the royals don't ocassionally venture out on their own shopping trips.

i haven't got an opinion on whether it's a publicity stunt but why why it be surprising to accept that the Royal's manage their image carefully? They care and are wary about their image just as much as anyone else in the public eye in whatever capacity.

Honestly, considering the stories coming out of the Leveson inquiry about how the British media/paps act for a story (real or not), I'd be surprised if it was a publicity stunt.

Just right after her wedding, she was photographed at Waitrose I think. And some people in the UK were saying that yeah, Waitrose is expensive, so I guess now she's shopping at Tesco to appear "normal"

It makes sense for her to wear that style of dress if she is pregnant--I guess to hide everything better. But she could just have bad taste. Color is great though.

She was seen shopping not even a week ago and her stomach was as flat as it could be. IMO she just has weird tastes. Whoever helped her during the Canada trip needs to come back fast.
