I would never shoot the messenger

but I will shoot the message. First of all, a handbag is not a piece of machinery but when a piece of machinery does have problems (ie - the keyless system), one gets it fixed. There is a difference between an intricate, highly technical system that develops problems and basic hardware on a hand bag. I have owned many designer bags and NEVER had a problem like some of the chipping problems I have seen on some of the paddingtons on this thread (go back and look at some of the pics if you haven't seen them). It is a defect and an outrageous one at that given the price. And these defects are not showing up after a couple of years of use - in some cases, it's after a couple of uses - and, in all of the problem cases, it shows up soon - after VERY limited use. Even handbags that I have that I've carried to death - there may be scratches, or some places where some rubbing has rubbed off some of the finish but the finish remains smooth but I have yet to experience anything like I've seen in pics on this thread. My blue nuit - that I have carried to death, thrown into the trunk, plunked down on hard floors, shoved under airplane seats, etc. - the hardware looks just like it did when I bought it. So there is something else going on here - bags that have true defects - and Chloe knows it or else they wouldn't be so willing to repair, replace or give refunds. I really am a reasonable person. If I had one of the bags with chipping hardware, I'd be upset and disappointed but I'd be grateful that Chloe was going to take care of it and just shrug that I might have to wait weeks or even a couple of months to get my bag fixed or replaced. But to accept it and live with it - no. (But.....chloe-lama (very cute name)......I still respect your thoughts on the matter
