Have I said how jealous I am of you girls who have a paddy..or multiple paddies?! :woot: *wanders off in search of anthracite*

Cougess - i don't know specifically about singapore but in canada, EVERYTHING coming into the country attracts taxes. One way to avoid this is to write "return to seller" on the package which implies it originated from Canada (therefore taxes already paid). No guarantee, of course, customs may still rummage around. Sorry not exactly what you're asking but may give you an idea at least.

thanks - I may do that. :flower:

Looks like NM and BG online shipped their Paddingtons out early. I got my second whiskey from BG today. My first one is from NM Chicago and has the very pebbly leather. This new one is more smooth and textured, and the leather appears to be a bit thicker in comparison. I feel the pebbled leather takes the whiskey color better - it appears to look a bit darker and more saturated. Just like with my two tan bags, it is going to be difficult to send one back. (The second has darker rivets than the first, which are more golden.) They both have their unique features. I am thinking the smoother leather might not age as nicely as the pebbled leather.

I purchased the second one to compare locks, and even though it was shipped from BG packaged in a white box from Chloe inside the shipping box, the lock has its nuances. The front is near perfect, but the back has some markings. On my first whiskey bag, the front has a couple of very small marks but they are not as bad as the marks on the back of the second lock. So, both bags are staying with their original locks. The question is which to keep and which to return! I'll take pics tomorrow night and post them for opinions.

I have a really strange question about the lock just because I thought it looked a bit odd. If you look at the bottom of the lock where the key hole is located, there are two screws. On mine, there is one on the far edge and one sort of further in and close to the key hole. It makes more sense if the other one was on direct opposite side of it so it's symmetrical. Anyone else's lock look like this??

The screws on both my whiskey locks are asymmetrical too. Not a biggie at all!

Were the chocolate bowlers shipped from NM early as well? I had one on pre-order that was supposed to ship around Feb. 22...

Cougess, I'm glad I'm not you right now, LOL! That's a lot of bags to receive at once. You have a big decision to make! Personally, whiskey would be my vote.

The blanc is photographing very white on all photos posted. Am I to expect a bag that is more white than vanilla? I am picturing a yellow undertone, like french vanilla ice cream - that's what I want the color to look like.

jelly - i think whiskey is an amazing color. i like the orange tone. i guess it depends on what other color bags you have/need right now! :p

big.mui--i fell in love with the ivory first...now, i'm also on the fence whether i should return the whiskey and waitlist for the ivory. anyway, i need to see the color in daytime first to decide.

I see your dilemma, Cougess. They are close in color...and they're both beautiful. I guess ask yourself if you'll get enough use out of both of them, since they are so close in color. Sorry, I'm not a lot of help!

I have both Blanc and Whiskey.....I would never be able to part from Whiskey!! I can already see color's aging, and getting more beautiful.....

off topic - Silverado - how many different colours?

Sorry to interrupt.....

I saw alot of Silverados in very nice colours (from the postings here). How many different colours do they come in actually? Pardon my ignorance! Thank you!

I already got mine and returned it. It was beautiful but I have too many bags arriving at once!

I'm leaning towards returning the new ivory bag and keeping the whiskey.

I just got back from a very fun girls night out. Thanks everyone for the opinions. I think I am keeping the more textured bag, as it seems more "Paddy-like."

Cougress: I think you should just keep your original vanilla bag. There will be other colors that you love, so you should save your bag fund for those. Good luck!

therese - thanks & hope you get yours soon too! paddy, go to ur mama therese quickly..

mrj64 - thanks! hope you don't have to wait long. it's a very nice colour with the rite amount of blue and grey mixed to look unique! :flower:

StephBina - congrats on ur new paddy! the ivory really brings out the hardware :woot:

btw,.. no probs with the weight on the bag at all... hehee, eventhough my bf complains that it's like a brick in there when he has to carry it for me while i'm in the change room.. LoL..

designme - lock's like that.. bf says it's normal on locks.. he calls it an 'offset'. my paddy lock's like urs too. ;) no worries =)

Hi, i'm thinking of getting my 2nd paddy and i'm leaning towards the new light blue color. There's this famous boutique in my city that sells authentic bags but they charged $1540 for the new paddy. Is it too expensive or is it just right? I bought my tan one in paris and it was like $400 difference

I didn't know you got the whiskey. I'd definitely return the ivory then.

So I did a little NYC Chloe excursion today.....

BG had lots of paddies on display, and there were radical differences in the leathers. The light blue especially had a really smooth, stiffer leather, not slouchy at all. After I got my new chocolate in Dec and was reading everyone saying the new leather wasn't as nice I thought everyone was crazy because my new bag was just amazing. Seeing how varied the bags can be though, I get it now, it's just the luck of the draw I guess.

I also went to the Chloe boutique and I have NEVER in all my life been treated so poorly. I was seriously planning on buying a 2nd paddy and that whole experience just turned me off. One thing also, they had a whisky paddy hobo on display, and that bag had a lock and key that were, again, radically different colors. The lock was the regular color and the key was very copper/bronzey, didn't match it at all. I understand that it was the display but still, just a discrepancy.

I asked the SA at the Chloe boutique if he had any of the light blue in stock for me to at least look at the color and he just gives me attitude and says "we're not going to buying any in that color". I even tried to crack a joke and be like, "oh, so this the earth tones only chloe boutique, huh" and he just turned around and treated me like sh*t again...

sorry, had to vent, I was so excited for my adventure and it just sucked!!:yuk:

Mine is quite smooth. There's a big difference in the pebbled leather as it gets more wrinkly. Maybe you can compare mine against when others post their pebbled ones:
