Thanks Roey and Chic_Chick for the info on the lock :flower:

... was getting paranoid for no reason!

BTW, I'm loving the pebbled texture myself. I'm glad that is what NM ended up sending me.

The pebble texture definitely gives the bag depth.

Mundodabolsa - I am so sorry to hear about that excursion. What a let down! I hate it when SA's are snobby. I had a similar occurrence this weekend at the Chanel store. I wouldn't just take it as someone being rude. Hope your next couple of days are better!

On another note for everyone here, which would you pick the whiskey paddy or the cream paddy if you had to pick between the two? I know that there's the long discussion above. It seems excessive to me to have two of them now. I think I'm too trigger purse happy.

So I did a little NYC Chloe excursion today.....

BG had lots of paddies on display, and there were radical differences in the leathers. The light blue especially had a really smooth, stiffer leather, not slouchy at all. After I got my new chocolate in Dec and was reading everyone saying the new leather wasn't as nice I thought everyone was crazy because my new bag was just amazing. Seeing how varied the bags can be though, I get it now, it's just the luck of the draw I guess.

I also went to the Chloe boutique and I have NEVER in all my life been treated so poorly. I was seriously planning on buying a 2nd paddy and that whole experience just turned me off. One thing also, they had a whisky paddy hobo on display, and that bag had a lock and key that were, again, radically different colors. The lock was the regular color and the key was very copper/bronzey, didn't match it at all. I understand that it was the display but still, just a discrepancy.

I asked the SA at the Chloe boutique if he had any of the light blue in stock for me to at least look at the color and he just gives me attitude and says "we're not going to buying any in that color". I even tried to crack a joke and be like, "oh, so this the earth tones only chloe boutique, huh" and he just turned around and treated me like sh*t again...

sorry, had to vent, I was so excited for my adventure and it just sucked!!:yuk:

Argh!! So sorry to hear that! That is really really lame when SA's have to be like that. You should bring your paddy there next time (if you weren't) wearing it already and demand to speak to the manager and complain. Of all places, a Chloe Boutique should have all the colors and then some!

balenciagalove- i personally think the whiskey is a gorgeous color. and although the idea of having a nice whiteish bag is perfect for summer, i think i would still go with the whiskey. i think the color does the paddington justice.

today saw the whiskey (which I can't wait to see in the edith) and the ivory, which is more yellow than the last white, but still a nice white. did the last white come with brown edges like this one? it's the one thing I'm not crazy about.

Sorry to hear about that, but I too had a bad experience with the Chloe store (in CA). The SAs were so snobby and they wouldn't give me the time of their day. Well, their loss...

Couguesss- I lvoeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the sopring 2005 its sooo sophiscated!!

The bag in the picture looks much whiter than the ivory I just received - it looks like a pure white, but its probably the flash.

yeah i'll have to confirm as well on the white..
i saw a s/s white hobo paddy in matsuya ginza (i didn't even know the hobo was still made).. and the white is definately a cream color.. reddish brown edges.. even the betty which looks white was really a cream color..

i think the old whites had grey trim, right?

Hi Everyone -

I'm new to the Chloe Paddington, but not new to pre-orders and waitlists
But, since I'm a Chloe newbie, could someone please tell me how to go about securing one of the new light blue Paddies? I see pre-ordering for other colors on the NM website, but I see the blue is already available on net-a-porter. Will this become more easily available in the US soon or should I buy from NAP? I know our local NM has the anthracite on display, available for purchase, so I'm confused as to whether these bags are really that hard to get or not??

Thanks :flower:

does anyone know if LVR is out of paddingtons? i don't see anymore of it on their website.

LVR has paddies available now.. in the classic paddy - blue clair, tan and choco ;)

my original "white" (which is really more of a sand or beige) has matching trim and I don't recall the last white having contrasting trim. it's definitely a different look.

URGENT HELP NEEDED!:
Does anybody knowto get rid of stains from a paddington blanc/off white? I have just noticed a small mark (looks like a smudge of lipstick or powder) and I have tried to remove it using soapy water and also a 'wet wipe' and it will not come off. I don't know what else to try and am scared to try anything else in case it ruins the leather. I have tried looking on google but the nearest info I can find is a warning that if you do not remove the stain fast, there is a likelihood it may not come off at all due to leather being pourus (sp) Does anybody know what I can do?

I haven't even had it a week and have been so careful with it, I don't know how this has happened-Think maybe someone has brushed past me and accidentally marked it or something.

Aww thats too bad. I use leather CPR to clean the vachetta on my LV bags. Its for sale on alot of different websites and they have their own website. It has cleaned some pretty ground in dirt on my handles, so it may work for your paddy. Since LV handles are naked vachetta I don't know how it will work on dyed leather

I used this stuff called neocleaner to remove (mostly) a stain on a white bag caused by red clothes rubbing off on it. I would be really careful though because you can easily take the white right off along with the stain. someone here mentioned getting lipgloss on their paddy -- you might search for that post and pm that person for advice. good luck.

(yes,, I got my paddy back!!)
I can't believe DHL. I've been waiting for my paddy since Thursday, stayed at home 2 days to wait - and just yesterday arranged with them to deliver it Friday as I couldn't stay home today or tomorrow - and then I get home now, and they had delivered it to my friend who I share apartment with. Lucky me she was home!! :woot:
It is really beautiful, even more than my old one - it has a lot more texture!
woohoo :buzz:

You need a good SA at Neimans to track down a blue for you. I think most stores got their shipments last week or so and the blue went fast. However, the Nordstrom stores that carry chloe are still waiting (I think) for their shipments so you can call around and ask to reserve one - by giving them your credit card # you can probably get a bag. :flower:

Yay Therese! It's been so long I forgot what color you purchased. Is it the blanc? Pics!! And here's hoping this one is free of defects in workmanship.

The more I look at my smoother whiskey bag compared to the more pebbly one I think more texture/pebbling suits the leather better. My smoother one is quite stiff. Perhaps it would soften over time, but I'm going to keep the more pebbled whiskey and return the smoother textured bag. The softness of the pebbling adds to the slouch effect. The smoother texture barely slouches, even with all my belongings inside.
